Dyna Shift Minder
I'm installing a Dyna shift minder DSMS-4 on my 07 model to operate a shift light.
It came with a coil adaptor T-102 , it only has two coil wires.
Can anybody remember if theirs had two or four wires to the coil?
I wired it to the instructions on the web site but no go.
I'm thinking the coil adaptor is for a twin cylinder?
Bloody frustrated

Thanks , I wired to coils #1 and #4 .
So it sounds like I have the correct coil adaptor.
Anybody wired the same as I have got theirs to work?

I think 2and3 are what you want, I think 1and4 was for the zx12.

I now have it wired to coil#2 white/blue stripe and coil #3 white/green stripe with all switches down to make it set at baseline of 6000RPM.
All my connections are soldered and it still doesnt work.
I tested at the 2 wires going to the shift light and there is no voltage when reved to 6500RPM.

it doesnt matter if you connect it to 2/3 or 1/4. a shift light doesnt know if its on a 12 or a 14, it could be on any inline 4. im not familiar with the 14 wiring harness, but it sounds like you have it connected to the pos wires? (those colours dont sound negative to me)
alternately is there a tach signal wire on a 14? theres a light blue wire on a 12 that runs from the tach to the ecu that can be tapped into to get rpm for shift lights ect. if theres one on a 14 you can get rid of the coil adaptor and wire directly to that.

on the 14 there is no tach wire like the 12-- the 14 uses the can system which eliminates a number of wires. one wire may pick up several signals. that is the definition i understood. i would check to make sure you are on the negative sides.

if you have a test light you can check. on a 12(and i assume on a 14) the coils are allways powered and fire when they get a switched negative. you want to be connected to the sw neg to get a signal, otherwise you will just get a constant voltage and not pulses that the box can pick up and count as rpm

doug the negatives are the correct ones to use-- colors may differ.make sure your on negs.i cant think of any reason this is not working for you, one question-- does the shift light blink when you turn the key on? if not try your wiring sequence again.
