I had a guy stiff me on some body work for a bike. I had paid thru PayPal but he had closed the account he used so they were no help when I filed a claim. I contacted my local Police and they had a nice Detective that handled Internet fraud. I had to supply all the Emails and the PayPal transactions to him. I am in Alabama and the guy was in Connecticut. It was a little over $1200 dollars. The Detective here contacted the local Connecticut police and soon we had his address. They sent a car out to his house where he lived with his parents and they got involed so his Dad called me. To make a long story short he was a young kid with no money. I was told I could take them to small claims court. But I am here in AL and they were up there. His Dad did send me about $600 dollars of my money back over 3 months time. Finally that stopped and I just wrote it off to a loss. It would have cost me more to pursue it and the Connecticut Detective that they put me in touch with finally told me he had more important cases pending and would call me if he needed anymore info.

It's sh*t like this that really grinds my gears -- I know there are a lot of dumbfux out there just waiting to rip somebody off or pick their pockets, but it's freakin' sad when you've got to keep your damn wallet on a chain just to shop the web!! I hate thieves!!!
