In the past BMW's numbers have always been at the crank and the reason they don't do well at Bonneville is because they have had no sprockets to play with because of the drive shaft. Haven't seen one of these yet--

Was over at gixxer.com.....MCN tried to fix their dyno charts but still goofed them up. However I think the Beemer is going to trounce everyone else in the hp wars.......

beemer winning torque and HP #'s everywhere I see, even when the Aprilia V4 is included in the shootout

But so did the 2009 R1 when the media hyped it, and the USA version is a dog. Folks are having to put YEC ECU's/euro harnesses, its a mess!

but blah....will it handle turns and brake on the track the best, which wins races? Ohlins comes standard on the Aprilia "factory" version

that Aprilia V4 at the end looks much smaller than my 600RR was anytime on the track

The jap brands are being humbled by germans and italians. and the euro's are cheap in price now that the japs have increased theres. madness!

The RSV4 is tiny........let me tell you. The next time I have a fabulous deal in the store I will PM you Steve. That 07 Factory was a smashing good buy. It's used retail value was much higher then we sold it for new......... I'd say a guy could ride it for a year and still get evey penny back selling it. Free for a year is a good thing........

Seems so far every comparison i've read puts the BMW ahead of everyone else. Even MCM rates the beemer as the #1 litre bike. Looks like Japan needs to stop being pussies, worried about regulators, and really make some major break throughs. I think something new that excites riders will always sell well. I use to change bikes on a regular basis and now I've been on the 14 for since '06 cause really not much has excited me. To go to the busa over the 14 seems just a waste of money cause there is really not much of a difference. But if Beemer is as good as they say, I wouldn't mind having a litre bike back in the garage.

if I rode the twisties then a litre bike would be a no brainer. I bet that the bimmer clutch is shit for the drag strip so it won't be a hit in the 14/busa crowds eyes.

Why do you guys keep talking about this bmw??Do you really care if this thing makes more hp??If it does then go buy one and stop talking about it.If it does in fact make more hp its still a BMW.They have always been crap and im sure when some time goes by and all the hype is gone we will all see the BMW problems come to the fore.

Maybe it bums many big jap bike owners is to think BMW will blow their bikes up. Sounds like this might totaled smoke my old 06 in all avenues of riding.
I'm soooo butt hurt, LOL
Wish they would have made this many many years ago.
Sounds like quite a leap forward in performance.

I think the BMW is overhyped to sell strong out of the gate just like every other new model that comes out. When the "actual" production bikes start rolling out of showrooms instead of the magazine/test ringers, I think its going to be just another fast liter bike......nothing mindblowing, just a fast competent literbike among a group of fast competent liters.
