In the spirit of the State of Missouri, they're going to have to "show me" that this bike makes 180+ horses at the rear wheel. I remember all the noise about BMW's hyper-bike (K1200) making 163 horsepower. As it turns out that was crank power, no rear wheel. I think we'll see the same with this bike.

All the early stories I read pointed to 193 horsepower for the Bimmer-Liter. That must be a crank figure. From the engine to the rear wheel there's about a 12% loss through drivetrain inefficiency. So even at 193 crank horse you're talking just under 170 rwhp. That seems much more reasonable to me. Powerful? Yes. 180+ rwhp? No.

We'll see.

It's weird mismatched features remind me a little too much of this:

I think the 10 looks pretty good once you ditch the oem signals/mirrors/exhaust...

blah....most of the people that would buy them for the money they go for wouldn't ever really have it WOT much if at all. Most owners will be older men that get them for bragging rights but can't ride worth shit. I see it all the time. I'm 32, so I mean...men in their upper 40's-60's. They talk a big game, but are slow as fuck. I've met a few in those ages that can ride like hell...but I've met more that can't and just buy sportbikes for the look at me factor.

I thought the base Bmw was real close to the rest of the 1000 cc bikes for price untill you start adding traction control, quick shifter etc. but then add those things to the reat of the litre bikes and your talking about the same money.

Most jap bikes are into the 12's now. I think the new GSXR 1000 will be close to 13,000 which is what the bmw is. so no 6 to 8 to play with. I think that's what you meant right Bawls. the new BMW is not 18,000 to 20,000. I think it's 16,000 fully loaded up But the front of the BMW is Ugly!

Went to the Akrapovic site and it looks like that hp peak occurs at a lot higher rpm than the MCN chart indicates. That line should be moved farther to the right......the overlay is not right. That changes things a little.............
