The power commander V can store 2 maps. I already had a gas map and an E85 map . there is a switch to select which map to run. I did not have to change anything else ( pump pressure , injectors, etc)

Smokin we have been testing in a car and it makes more power with more fuel its kinda strange but the car is in the 10.8 range and is making more power than it was at 11.8-12.0, Also if you could adjust timing hit it with a few extra * of timing and I'm sure power will jump up big time.

Don't know how many guys out there are running an aluminum fuel rail but if you are I would suggest you get it anodized before you run E85. It will erode bare aluminum VERY quickly. Gasoline won't.
Same goes for aftermarket regulator's and such. Get the bare aluminum parts anodized first.
Ethanol works great on boosted applications.

when someone gets a flies out map for a brocks exhaust on a pc3 i want one. Hell, maybe we could all pitch in some money to get smokin' to build one for us. I'll throw in 20 bucks for an e85 map.

Ok Ok I have been using E85 for the last 6-8 months and never told anyone not even my friends!! I gained only 3 more Hp and I thought about switching back to pump gas but The E85 is an 104 octane and the engine runs cleaner and safer! I have never had any problems with this gas and i still have the stock fuel pump and Injectors in my 07 14!! The only thing that I dont like is that Im running the injectors at about 80%.

There's alot more guys running e85 then you think. It has just been a secret. Hopefully smokin keeps working at this and gets some hard numbers from the track!

ask me how i learnt how this crap works..the local gas station got phase separation and several cars to repair..

ask me how i learnt how this crap works..the local gas station got phase separation and several cars to repair..
wasn't it common for tanks at the gas stations to have water in the bottom of the tanks? that is what caused the steel tanks to rust and leak MTBE's. That resulted in underground storage tanks needing to be replaced with plastic ones. I am sure that putting E85 in one of those tanks would be bad....
not sure that is the case now. I put E85 in jugs at the pump and see no evidence of phase seperation. It is easy to see , that is how you determine gasoline content.

Dad got a new truck that runs on E85. I noticed the owners manual stated oil changes have to be conducted earlier as opposed to using regular fuel. Does this apply to bikes as well using E85 ?

probably
when water is mixed with alchohol it creates an acid. If you do have fuel going by the rings and mositure in the crankcase you could see this. If you are racing you are changing the oil more often anyway... if you are running e85 on a street bike you may want to change the oil more often.

87 octane vs 93 octane hp
How much difference is there on the dyno between the two fuels? Does the 87 ever show signs of detenation on the dyno? The reason I ask is I would be scared of 87 on a hot day. Should.I be or am I just being over causious?

It's been gone over time and timea again... 87 makes more power and is fine for most street use: unless you are running more timing than stock or have a lean map. I've run 87 for most of my '07 14's life and only once did I hear it knock: temps in the 90's and got a bad tank of gas which made it knock down below 3K rpms. And I have a very good ear for engine sounds such as knocking and pinging.

You sure eklipse636, I thought the the first post and whole topic was on pump fuel vs the e85? 68gts2 just asked the difference between 87 vs 93 octane.

I have a muzzy no fly map and have not managed. To hook up with Smokin and hisa dyno yet. I was sent two maps and chose the leaner of the two because the other map is really for a m10 can and is a bit richer. I am leary of the 87 thing because of the summers here. High 90s to low 100s with 90% humidity in the dog days. Believe me I want to run whatever makes the most power because I am a racer at heart.

damn you little bastard smokin. Saying "250+ pounds" as if that was the cutoff line for Big Fucker! Sorry, but 250 is still small in my book. 
Car guys: what kinda power you think I could get out of my '05 GTO (currently 385rwhp) with E85?? Sounds like the 14 picked up around 3%, which for me would be 10+rwhp- except my car only spins to 6500rpms. ??

You should add we saw no difference between your dyno numbers and my dyno numbers .. Yours with 93 and mine with 87 made the same HP on my dyno ... We didn't dyno them the same day but your zx14 made what everybodys zx14 made on my dyno within 1+ or 1- hp..

Smokin. Should I drain the 93 for a dyno session and fill it with 89? I would be close to that fat ass mark geared up.

I'd leave the 93 in it ... If there is any difference it will only be 1 or 2 hp at most ...
