ODD ?

My 07 ZX14 is being painted and the guy doing the job removed my exhaust while painting the bike...to make things worse, I learned it was removed over a month ago and no terry cloth towels or anything was used to cover the 4 holes. Ofcourse I went left and right on this guy but is it a concern guys?? Should I say...sorry bro?? Oh and I live in a cold climate where temps been hovering below freezing.

I really don't think it should be an issue unless the bike is in a dusty or dirty or really moist environment.
However I do think he should have put rags in the ports . I'd make sure before he installs the exhaust that there's nothing that found its way in the exhaust ports just to be safe.
How much longer is the exhaust gonna be off?
Is the bike indoors?

My first thought, why is he painting the bike with the fairings on the bike??! Second, he should take the fairings off to paint the bike so overspray won't get everywhere.

+1, why did he need to remove the exhaust to paint the bike? Was he doing more than the fairing panels?

I wouldn't think a bit of overspray in the exhaust port would matter though, it would burn off in seconds. As long as nothing else got in there.

Ask the body shop guy because next time you take your fairings off it will be a different color where they overlap and will look like shit. Also I would think it would chip easier with the edge of the paint being on the corner of the fairings...

That makes no sense...removing the exhaust is more work than removing the fairings. In fact, I remove the fairings in order to remove my exhaust.

Crazy.

Someone is really not painting your bike with everything on it are they? If so you have more issues then your exhaust being taken off.

I would be really really concerned about the holes being open. I bet a bird got in there, made a nest and have probably hatched eggs with chicks in there by now in one of the holes and maybe rats in the others.

LMAO! Thanks for the intel, the fairings where painted off the bike but where put back on twice according to him to make sure all the lines are straight (it's a busy Vanderslice type job). The guy is really good and careful...too careful if you ask me. He painted for me 3 other times on cars but never a bike. It just kinda freaked me out when I saw that. Oh and the only birds I kill are HAYABUSA'S!!
