Can I chrome all the stock bolts, screws ect?

The bolts on my bike are showing some age, I started to remove them one by one and polish them with a drill and metal polish, they look great but not for long. So Im looking into my options, Can I send the factory bolts and screws I want chromed to a shop? Or do I need new bolts? Is there I crome set available? I want chrome caliper bolts, handlebar bolts, gas cap bolts, sub frame bolts, ect.. Is it expensive to drop a bucket of bolts of at the chrome shop?

I wouldn't think you can chrome bolts because of the threads.. Seen titanium bolts before but not chrome. How bout those chrome bolt spikes? Seen em on roaring toyz bikes

The bolts can be chromed if they are not stainless steel. The last time I had bolts chromed it averaged about $5 a bolt. The cheaper option is to buy stainless button head bolts and polish them on a bench grinder with a bonnet and rouge. They will shine like chrome.

Will the stainless bolts stay nice for long after being polished? The stock ones shine like chrome, but after a few washes they start to corrode..

I have seen little chrome plastic buttons that you can place over the bolts, but in my opinion they look cheesy. You can have just the heads of the bolts Chromed but you will need a smaller allen to install them...they may peel off though.

You can buy titanium rotor bolts for $5 each.
I would also just buy a set of zx14 bolts on eBay and replace
the ones showing wear and still have some spares.

Here is a number that will make the bolts look like their chromed that will last. 270-781-3361 smithbrite metal polish in kentucky. Look at my post titled my 08se on page ae or 3. Look at my mid-pipe. That is polished not chromed. This stuff is money. The crap at the autozone isn't even close. It comes in 3 grades. Agressive med mild.

One way is when the bike gets wet, or when you wash it, use a air compressor to get the water out of the bolts. Dosent take long, makes it easier to dry the bike, and gets all the water out of all the cracks so it won't corrode. The bolts on my 06 was 3 years old, I washed the shit out of that bike, and they still looked real good!

wash it without water

I try to avoid riding in the rain as much as possible, but it still happens. I do not clean my bike with water to help the corrosion of things. I have always thought bikes just don't like water.
