A thanks to forum members
I just passed one year of ZX 14 ownership. After 35 years of cruisers, I'm only sorry I didn't buy a sport bike much sooner. I'm not very mechanically inclined, but I learned so much just reading all the posts. Back tire is about done with 3,000 miles and it seems like most guys are happy with the Michelin PR 2's. Agree?

Glad to hear you enjoy your 14! There are a bunch of great guys here that are very helpful in helping us guys that aren't the most mechanically inclined.
As for tires, I have yet to hear anything bad ab any michelin tire. It all depends on your use of the tire. I have no experience in just a "road" tire, but someone will chime in!

i ride about 30000 km a year and it is the only tire i use for the last 3 years (only road).

I love the Michelins! I currently am running the Pilot Power 2CTs. I had the regular Pilot Powers last time and got around 6000 miles on them. The Pilot Power 2CTs look good after 2500 so far....99% street riding, a few burn outs....Both are FAR superior to the Bridgestones that came on the bike, they were toast at 3000.

odd man out!
I wish more of you guys would give the contential sport attacks out. They are a really nice set of skins for all around riding. If you need more grip they offer a race attack in three different compound options,plus 3 slicks too.

The Michelins are a hugely popular tire for the 14.
Their profile helps with turn in and they offer great traction.
The PP2 will give quicker warm up and better mileage, as a sport touring tire should.
That said I've never ran them just rehashing what has been reported at all 14 forums over 3 yrs.
I prefer the Pirellis for track days and Dunlops RoadSmart for the street.
I changed my suspension to suit my needs. I dont care for the Michelin Profile.
IMO dont bother with trying to get the last few miles out of your front. The deteriorating ride, handling and safety factor isnt worth it.
I replace tires in sets and find out what PSI gives Me a 15-20% increase between cold setting and hot reading.
