Battery terminals were loose ...again!

So for the past few weeks my 14 has been acting strange .
Started with, In the mornings it would crank slower than usual. Ok maybe the cold has something to do with it. No biggie .
Then it would do it when it was warm. Fine maybe the battery is finally getting weak. Then all the above plus every once in a while the guages would reset !
Ok now I know the battery is havibg issues. Today every time I started the bike the guages would reset.
So now I just went In the garage ad took a look at the battery.
Terminals are loose and the negative has that nasty green electrolosis buildup!
So I cleaned and tightened them up and put her on the trickle charge .
We'll see what happens tomorrow er later today .

They make a gel that you can put on your terminals that stop the buildup, or I have heard a small amount of vasoline will work, never tried it.

usually it's the (+) terminal that gets the corrosion, if it keeps happening then check to see that the ground cable connection is tight where it grounds to the bike.

hope this helps

Mine has always been the ground that corrodes. All connections but the terminals were tight.

Actually my battery is still not as strong as it once was and needs to be replaced soon cause the restarts after stopping for a short period still cause the guages to reset.
