low hp zx14 lol

Took my bike to a shop here in san diego today and found out that I have the lowest hp zx14 on the planet lol. According to the dj250 that I was on my bike is making 161hp and 89 lb/ft of torque. It did make 5 more than a zx12 with cams, akrapovic pipe, and pc though. I'm thinking that we may have found a stingy dyno lol. Btw, the owner of the shop said that it was the most hp he's seen out of a bike yet.

That is pretty low...do you have the printout? I'd like to see the correction factor and a/f #'s!

All dyno very even after calibration sounds like a real dyno on the low side most have them on happy mode to make you feel good about the work done

We have a stingy DJ200 locally. My bike was 176 hp SAE, right in line with what Smokin got on his DJ200. Pipe, pc, bmc, pump gas.

I have seen some crazy #'s from dyno's where I think that the temp and humidity readings at the dyno are off. That could lead to a bad correction factor.

What are your mods, Bawls??

Ducati Seattle is the same. On their dyno I did 161.5. But that was SAE. Dynojet said it was 175.

I got you all beat!!! My 07 did 156.5hp. I was crushed.

Now I pulled the flies, PC3, 4-2-1 C/T exhaust from Brock, map from Brock, 16-41 gears. Feels great but I haven't brought it back to the dyno for fear I will be disappointed.

I never Dynoed mine, but it's '07 with dual Ara. slip-ons. If these are the numbers I would get, I may just trade it in for a VESPA

I don't remember what my number was but it was depressing. I think 165.. Or 160.75. Anyhow, it sucked. Glad to hear mine wasn't the only one that low

Glad I could help.

You have sparked my interest again, I think I will try the dyno again.
Anyone want to guess?

No flies, PC3, 4-2-1 C/T Series exhaust from Brock, 16-41 gears.

It traps 119 in the 1/8th in 3500ft air. Never ran 1/4 mile though.

Yeah my 14 still runs as strong at the strip as other 14's with the same mods.
I prefer the real world over the dyno .

At the dyno shootout Kerry bryant hosted last year they had a zx-12 that made 165 hp.
The owner said he just had a pipe and PC tuning.

It is possible, my 2000 12 made great hp on Ryans dyno, I just can't remember exactly how much and hate to just throw numbers around, additionally the bike ran the numbers to back it up. To be honest when I had him dyno the 14 I was a bit dissappointed in the numbers but like Ryan said I had a killer 12 and an average 14. Still wouldn't trade back though, I love the ability to launch a relatively low rpm and still make the torque of an Allis-Chalmers to help get me moving. BTW, for all you guys not from the mid-west an A-C is a farm tractor.

Yeah, lots of yahooos have dyno's nowadays. Most are wrong.

Hell when my '08 was bone stock in 2008 with a few 100 miles on it, it pulled 170hp with 106 lb torque.

Same dyno with my brock pipe in 2009 pulled 160 something hp and less torque. I left and said to my friend, "This dudes dyno is shit."
