Last nights racing was pretty good ....for me at least.
I was able to slip out the track last night and it was one of those nights where I just got lucky. The place was nearly empty and I got in about 15 passes. It was raining all around the area but at the track.
The night started off decent with a 9.90 pass @ 144.5 and a 1.69 60'. I know that's dog slow to a lot of you guys but keep in mind that I'm stock height & stock wheelbase just strapped and -1 up front.
I kept on knocking out 9.90's and a couple of 9.89's and then I tried tucking the mirrors in. That was worth 1mph on the far end and I was actually surprised it made that much of a difference.
I then clicked off a 9.84 with a 6.46@116 in the 1/8th. The weather was not the best with a little bit of a head wind and the temp in the mid 70's along with high humidity.
I really should lower this thing because I know by the mph that I should be able to hit mid 9.60's if I could just use more than 1/2 throttle in first gear but I'm a stubborn traditionalist in the thinking that street trim is street trim.
I'm still pretty happy overall.

That's great, 9.84 is the same time as my best on a stock 14 with standard wheelbase. Mine was strapped and geared 17/40 for top speed runs we were doing at the same meeting
Nearly as good was standing at Santa Pod the other week as a spectator thinking "I'm quicker than that".

Nice! I remember one time I was heading to the track for some night racing and there were scattered showers out.
But I already heard from my buddies that were there and they said no rain.
When I get there it started pouring ! The track was shut down and I raced the storm back home lol!

Hey Adam,
Glad the old scooter is still running good!
Both of my sons have run the best numbers ( only 1/8th mile tracks 'round here) on stock gearing. You might wanna try the stock countersprocket to help with the first gear wheelies.
Those are really good numbers with the bike not being slammed.
