DOT tire that acts like a slick

The Shinko 003 works great when the track is sticky but that is about twice a year. To set up for the track takes a lot of adjustment when you only get 3 runs at the most for that day. RMR has a very short season compared to the Southern tracks where the track is hot enough to allow good runs.

Dave...... I always try to be nice to people on the board, and I'm struggling to not post some snide, sarcastic remark. The 003 is an old tire and that same news has been reported at least 200,000 times. Thanks though.

I use the Pilot Power and run about 43-48 pounds of air in it. My bike is stock wheel base and 60ft around 1.50-1.52 I have been really happy with this tire.

Bawls, what were your best 60 foots at stock wheelbase? I thought quite a few guys around here were running 1.5's...

1.53 with stock pipes one time but i ran a lot of mid high 1.5's... once i piped it i never regeared so i struggled to stay in the 1.5's but ran a lot of 1.60's. Anyone running consistant low 1.5's at stock wheelbase is getting it done. Especially piped. Here's one of Shine's runs from the brock diaries.

Plenty of people run the Supercorsa...but I believe that a very well known Michelin dealer had a falling out with Pirelli...so they aren't getting as much exposure in drag racing circles now...

Nobody is forcing you to run a shitty old Pirelli, Dusty!

Tried most those of those tires. The guys with slicks do well. The 1/8 mile is my big problem. Just can't hook up with DOT. Get wasted by almost anything on two wheels. Best time in the 1/8 is 6.02 at 120 mph. Tire spin is a big problem , worst time is 16sec. @ 116 mph, track was horrible, spun the tire and fish tailed all the way down the track. Track was just scrubbed with no VHT or rubber laid down. Just need a tire that can handle the worst conditions. 26,500 miles on Muzzy stage one. best time 9.45 @ 150.6 on a daily rider. Average is 9.50 @ 150 mph, honest full street and road.
