You should try it. I've ran at 14 different LSR events in the last 3 years, on 5 different bikes. It's a lot of fun, and I did break 200 mph on the 14 this year.

Hey Shane, thats one thing I want to do this coming year. Do you know if there is anything closer to CA for LSR than maxton? No salt or dirt. I think it would be fun to do 200mph in a standing mile.

Kevon, I know this will be hard for you to believe but I used to workout everyday for almost 4 years. I walked around at about 175lbs. I had and still do have a strict diet just alot less calories and carbs now. I just stopped lifting this past January and instantly lost 40lbs. (it sucks). It's good for drag racing that's it. 500lb club would be an accomplishment.

Mojave is a certainly a possibility for you, and Texas would be great. The Texas event spans 3 days of racing now, I believe.

Hey guys,
I have been reading this thread from day one. I am not pointing any fingers; just want the correct info out there. There are a few things i would like to add about Brock's 08 Busa and 06 14 as well as the LACK of 08 busas in super sport. Brock's 14 ran 9.00 with Chip Ellis on a solo run, I believe this is the quickest stock motor, stock wheel base ZX14 time out there, correct me if I am wrong. The very next pass (meaning Richard was doing his burnout when Chip's time came up) Richard Gadson rode the Busa and went 8.99...1 minute between them, I know this because I prepped the bikes and took them to the staging lanes. Later in the evening Chip rode the Busa and went like 4 8.90s passes with a best of 8.91. Both bikes were within 4 pounds of each other with two gallons of gas.
In my opinion, there are no Busas in the SS class because of ground clearance. The Busa Belly wing sits too low, and if you take it off to gain ground clearance you will lose mph. And in SS MPH is huge on the big bikes because the 1000s run right around them from the eighth on. Big bikes front half, and the smaller bikes back half.
Also, I know Joey went 162 and that is really fast...but dont forget about heavier Keith Dennis last season go 165MPH 3 times in Norwalk. Well that’s just my opinion take it or leave it.

Jason that is pretty much what i remember about it .. I wish they would have run the ZX14 back to back with the Busa later that night .. I know the air was better and may have made a difference ..

8.99 Vs 9.00 at the same time of day .. Thats good info and tells alot ... Thanks ..

I would love to say yes or no, but I don’t know. I doubt Kawi would put something on the bike to slow it down besides mirrors, as far as aeros in my opinion, I could be wrong. I do not think the wing on the 14 is not a beauty cover either because it only covers up a small part i.e. the linkage. and is very sturdy compared to the Busa. Who knows?

Has anyone thought of putting the tiger racing extended shovel on their bike? I know that the busa is supposed to pick up mph with it.

I must not be a good enough rider because my 08 busa ran 149 with the belly wing and 149 without the belly wing it was always my understanding it did not hurt or help mph in the 1/4 it was more for top speed runs. but maybe appraoching 160 it would take effect.

Here comes more debate.........numbers have shown that the 08-09 seem to faster. Now let's compare the 08 busa to the 08-09 ZX14.
