The pp will last longer on the street. My full bore ultra soft (about the same as a shinko us) got 1200 miles, and oo... I'd say 40-50 passes. Its about to thouch the wear bars.

Good for you Doug.
I am very happy for you brother.. been there done that too, although justa few years, so I can only imagine how hard it is after 30 yrs. kudo's.
Anyway bro, the pp2 will turn much, MUCH better and get double the mileage of 003 usoft, as well it will hook damn well for street tire if you drop tire pressure.
Not sure how heavy you are, I am 200 lbs and found 33 psi rear, and 35 psi front gave great feedback, cornering and straight line traction, and tire wear due to wider footprint. 41 psi is way too much IMO.

I've ran the Shinko and I currently run the Mich PP. No comparison. Mich is a much better tire. The price will tell you that. U get what u pay for. I want to put the P1 on next. I hear it's an awesome tire. I wouldn't run anutha Shinko, personally.

Shinkos aren't bad tires, look at the bikes chris jones run and 98 percent of his tires are shinko's. Look up a interview he did on you tube. Search his name.

Dubious, how much street riding at those pressures & what kind of mileage do you get from a set? I've been running 40 rear/36 front and getting 3.5-5K a set depending on brand. Could always use more traction if mileage isn't to bad.

I am / was hard on tires. I was getting about 20-25% more mileage out of a rear at the lower pressure, due to increased footprint. It wasn't scrubbing the center down as quickly, and I was getting much better feedback when cornering.
Better straight line traction too.
The ultimate tire pressure will depend on your weight as well. As long as the tire is not squirming due to low tire pressure, I would suggest you keep dropping it until it does, then raise it back up a few psi. Some people may not be as sensitive to tire feedback as others, so if they are not SURE what they are doing, they should just run recommended pressures.
Thats my theory on it anyway.
I want the tire to conform to every road irregularity, without bounce, or squirm.

P1 is the new sticky tire that Michellin has out now. It sorta has the dimpled tread pattern almost similar to the Shinko. Cost you about $100 to $120.00 more than the Shinko though.
