spun a bearing
my freind spunn a bearing on his busa. he had the bearing replaced about 5 month ago. i guess the guy who did the work did a bad job. how hard is it to pull the motor? only one way to learn. im about to give it a shot . just looking for some good tips. thanks in advance

why you say that? the crank looked good last time the bearings were replace. i was thinking about just buying a used bottom end.

With a Busa , I'm sure you need head work, and about your used bottom end?

If the crank was not set up properly when the work was done, I highly doubt it would
take five months for it to show up. Look for what may have caused the problem, there's
a reason in there somewhere.

For a shell bearing to spin the friction between the crank journal and the bearing has to be greater than the friction between the con-rod and the bearing, usually lack of lubricant. As long as the previous work was carried out correctly......were the crank journals checked to make sure they weren't out-of-round? Are the con-rods straight? All that stuff needs checking and it might even be worth having the crank re-ground if you're going to all the trouble of taking the engine apart.

If the crank was not set up properly when the work was done, I highly doubt it would
take five months for it to show up. Look for what may have caused the problem, there's
a reason in there somewhere.

i talked to the guy who did the work he said no that couldnt happen its all new parts in their. i know about two people who he build motors for and spunn bearing just found that out .

we already have two 14s. the busa was a friends but he was not making the payments so had to take it from him. he was messing up my credit. now im stuck with a busa lol ill try to make it look nice lol

thats why i just feel like buy a used bottom end and replacing the rings and piston if needed. dont want to go threw this again
