hong kong plastics

as some of you know i crashed at lebanon valley a couple of weeks ago, did damage to the plastics. instead of stock i saw these plastics on e-bay. did a search but did not get alot of info, so i'm wondering who's got good info on these plastics. who's bought these plastics and who's had good or bad experiences. 600.00 dollars for them wondering if their worth the money.

My buddy just bought a set of Lime green Rickey Gadson plastics with gas tank for $999. He said that there was one set left. If interested let me know and I will ask him.

That's probably my only beef with these fairings- they are only used on crashed bikes.

hey guys --got the plastics and i have to say they are better than i expected - after hearing all the negatives about the plastics i found them to be unfounded in my case anyway.- nice raised lettering -- no clear coat blobs or drips and as far as alignment goes they went on and fit with no effort at all. i did open 3 grommet holes-- but for a grand less than oem i would have opened them all. i am very happy with the plastics and well i would not have bought them if i had not crashed--- but i dont no of any other reason to buy new plastic anyway.not sure what mass meant by having a problem with these plastics on crashed bikes. i hope never to crack up and delay the track again --but i would buy these again

Mine were a steal at $600 dollars shipped. custom flame paint and came with all of the parts except the tank. I had a friend paint it black to match for me. here is my 07 limited with the Hong Kong plastic. I too had to open up a few holes. I also had to go to Lowe's and get some heat sheilding for the backs of the farings. I went with the red flames because of the red LE wheels. I also used the stock red grills not the black ones that came with the plastic.

Sorry about the delay but I've missed this thread in my "radar" screen. I got the same plastics as Big_T112 and they do look nice. My concern is that they might be fragile and at high speeds it may get off the bike, leaving me with an instant naked model. The maximum speed I've driven the bike so far is 230 kmph => 142 mph and they hold on good (even though I've noted a slight crack in one of the side panels corners (low right, behind the front turning light), but I'm not sure if that is really produced by the air pressure at high speed or it was during the installation (lotta trimming needed).
Good luck!

well i did order these plastics and i was impress with the paint scheme nice raised lettering no overspray of clear coat and the only thing is i had to open four holes to make the openings larger. fit was good all around no large gaps-- and the gaps i had were small they could have been caused by the accident. i move one bracket and the plastic slipped right into place. for a grand less than oem i dont see any reason not to give these a shot. even tried used oem and could not get that price.

I took one of the plastic pieces to our local auto paint supply house and had them mix the same paint up. I also went to Lowe's and bought the one ich thick padding and 3M glued them to the back of all the new farings and it made them a lot more rigid. These did not have the foam like the factory and 1" inch foam from Lowe's was a lot cheaper.
