I disagree.... moving a bike with Ceramic Wheel Bearings is obviously noticable so you should certainly expect a little bit of an inprovement in performance.

Check out the video demonstrating a set of World Wide Bearings on a ZX14 Carrozzeria Wheel.... it spins for 5 minutes and spun by hand.

I read that testing showed no gain on the 1/4 mile.

I could see them being "better" bearings, but what I think everyone is saying is its not worth the performance gain for the amount of money. How much are they? Like $300-400? That's a wad of money to gain very little, if any.

In the world of Heads-Up Drag Racing, combinations of certain parts make all the difference in the world and when one-thousandth of a second means a paycheck or not then they're worth it. They are on our Mod List.

In a heads up situation i could see that being one of the upgrades. Imho putting that $400 towards lighter wheels would be a lot bigger gain in performance. To each his own.

The ceramic balls are actually harder and less brittle than the steel balls. Yes the are a load of money but they are also about half the weight and tighter tollerance than steel bearings. That's why they spin so freely.

Certain classes such as AMA SuperSport does not allow for aftermarket wheels but they do allow Ceramic Wheel Bearings.

Ceramic wheel bearings on the stock zx14 wheels is something I'd never do.

On a set of aftermarket rollers...then definately maybe.

1/1000th of a second? lol, I dont think Tater riding the streets or local drag racers are worried about that little of a gain. but if you have to have them go for it.

All around better bearing for any type of riding but the biggest benefit and safety would be high speed.

I doubt you will see much gain in ET or MPH. But they will make the bike easier to move around, which comes in very handy...no matter where the bike is.

I have them, and I do drag, street, and lsr with my bike. Biggest plus is for moving the bike around (especially in the staging lanes, or in the garage at home). Also makes lubing the chain a little easier (spinning the wheel is easier).

That being said, at $400 I'd look elsewhere if you are just looking for mph and ET. There is no reason that bearings won't work well on the street if you so wish, however.

I hear that at 400.00 bucks it would take a lot of street ride time to make up for the efficiency gain but if my wheel bearings went out I might buy since I plan on keeping Kawi bikes.
