The last 2 oem clutch sets I used were right at 2.135 . I bet Wheelie went oem. Used steels will more than likely let you read a slightly higher stack because a few of the steels could slightly warp.

Mine are oem as well, and I did check them flat. Maybe they had a slight residue or growth from heat? Oh well, no worries.

Don't be too hard on the guy - I think his goal was a 10.5, so no visions of beating a 14.

Lucky this guy ( Qtip ) and his friends over at StarVmax have been flapping their gums about how they can't be beat ..The BEAST as they call it is the badest bike in the world ... Even after we showed them awhile back that a Vmax is no match for a zx14 they still don't believe it .. 9.06 Vs 10.72 need we say more ?

I was just going by his thread on starvmax - didn't do any history on him.
He didn't have to say anything about Wheelie, but this is what he DID say:
"A guy on a ZX14 was was running a 9.1 every time ...It was fun and can't wait to go again.."

It was clear that he wasn't going to line up with Wheelie. It surprised me that the guy on the GSXR 1000 pulled up next to him. He DID outrun Wheelie .................. from the burnout box to the start line.

Nice Video lucky ... Qtips bashing was in earlier posts ... The post you put the video clip in Qtip has not done any bashing .. Not much he can really say ... lol.. All these Vmax guys are fast untill they show up at the track and then they get real quite...

What's really cool is to see different setups, and how they work for different people...

Wee has that bike really moving with I believe a 48T rear sprocket? I couldn't imagine trying to ride mine with that much gear...even when the bike was heavy. Wow!

Great job making that somewhat unconventional setup work for you, Wee!

Yup Shane that's a nice vid of wee ... You can see just where he got the clutch out ... That pass would have been faster but for the wheely when the clutch came out .. There is no way i could use that much gear and not wheely !! Wee seems to have good clutch controll ...

my 60's were failing so I raised my rpm to 6500, thats why it wheelied, 6200 is where I left on the 9.06, any higher and you see what happens.

wee.

Wow, that really illustrates the difference in setups. I am running 16/43....and was able to run 9.0x staging at 3500. I'm still experimenting a bit, but I have tried everywhere between 3500-5700...and been able to run almost equal times.

690 pounds it is a beast ... I still say if i can ever find one at the right price i will buy one .. But if i ever do buy one i will not go around saying it's something it's not .. It will be a street bike that looks cool and does great burnouts ..Will i take to the track once in a while ? I'm sure i will ..

Got a comment on youtube: "We have a few VMax's out west that have 202whp.. Look out 14's we are coming for ya.. "

Now where did I put that caculator? Oh, yeah .............. Start>Run>Calc

Put a 200 pound rider on each.

High HP Max: 690 + 200 = 890 pounds. 890/202 = 4.4 lb/hp
Run-of-the-mill-14: 510 + 200 = 710 pounds. 710/180 = 3.9 lb/hp

That a'int gonna do it. Pee Wee Gleason would have to lose weight to make it fair .....

I think you can get a Vmax to run with a 14, but the guys are going about it all wrong.

They are focused on hp, when that is not the issue...

Maybe they're bringing a portable dyno with them?

$18,000 for a new V-Max, im curious what the total cost will be when it can beat a stock motor 14.

Cost is not a big issue for the demographic...they would happily pay $23k for a Harley.

You can have two zx14s running 8s for the price of one Vmax running 9s.... Ckeck out this flyer from starVmax ..

If you notice it's Vmax ONLY ...They don't want a busa or zx14 showing up kicking their Butts AGAIN ....
