Drag racing is dangerous .. For some people ..

Tonight at the track we had a bunch of wheely bar bikes doing some testing .. One rider seemed kind of new to us .. He had only a few passes on his new drag bike .. I saw most of what happened but Teddy got a birdseye view real closeup.. The guy starts his burn out full throttle and the bike got sideways ... Does he let offf ? Does he pull in the clutch ?? Hell no he goes wide open throttle sideways right into the center of the track where the starter guy is standing .. Good thing there is a wall there or he would have killed the starter guy .. To make things worse a bike is setting in the center right before the wall , Teddy is standing next to the bike ... The bike is there because the track tech guy had pulled him off the track to wipe some oil from his bike before he made a pass .. ..The wheely bar bike at full throttle hits the parked bike and flips it in the air ..The bike only missed Teddy by and inch at most ... As the bike starts to flip it hits the owner of the other bike and knocks him to the ground.. ... Damage to wheely bar bike was a smashed header and a set of busted engine cases .. The other bike suffered a folded up rear rim , bent swing arm , pegs ripped off and pleanty of rashes ... .. The wheely bar bike bounces off the other bike and ends up staged at the starting line ...Both riders ended up with some bumps and scrapes but nothing broken ... Lucky that someone didn't get killed ..

There is allways a chance of us wrecking going down the track , that is the risk we all take .. But getting mowed down in the burnout box is something you just don't think would ever happen ...

Glad no one got hurt.
Now who's responsible for the bike that got hit? Is it just a risk he takes, or does the newbie on the bar bike step up and pay for his mistake??

That KZ missed me by less than an inch! The hairs on my left leg felt it go by! I didn't know what the hell was happening. I heard a screaming bike then remember seeing a blue streak at my left leg. Suddenly the gixxer was flying up in the air and landed on it's right side. I think the KZ also bounced off the baricade before he stopped at the line?

At least we got to see that rotory blow up and catch fire before we went home! LOL
