I switched to a Michelin Power Race on Friday. You are absolutley correct about that tire is like adding a tooth vs. the Shinko. My problem or question is this tire rubs my tiger tail HARD. I am running a race take of 190, how much taller is the 190 vs. the 180 if any? I think this killed my 1/8 mile times with all that rubbing.

Approximate Circumference:
Shinko 190/50 - 77"
Michelin 180/55 - 79.25"
Michelin 190/50 - 78.25"
Approximate Height:
Shinko 190/50 - 24.51"
Michelin 180/55 - 25.23"
Michelin 190/50 - 24.90"
Weight of both Power Race tires: approximately 12.5 lbs. each
Weight of Shinko: approximately 15 lbs.

Maybe you can just add a little preload to take care of the issue.

If you have a tape measure, measure the circumference. I'd be very interested to know what it measures to.

80.5 would be 25.62 on the height. So, you are losing over 1/2" of undertail clearance compared to the Shinko...

When my bike was 63", it hooked with 20 psi in it, on a 40 degree day. These tires are very good. Also, no tearing or abnormal wear at 211 mph.

I have around 125 1/4 mile passes, plus 30 or more top end passes on mine. It is at the wear indicators in the center, but will be good for another 25 1/4 mile passes and then I'm pulling it.

Dude, that tire DEAD hooks!!!!!!!!!!! My problem was it hooked and then hit my undertail and casued me to bog. I thought the shinko was a good tire but I like the Michelin better. I guy at my track ran a 7.90 on a Busa with a power race 180/55.
