I was a little dissapointed on the aspect of they didn't do tq or rpm's. They didn't tell me until after the run. I'm not familiar with dyno's and didn't know you had to take fairings off to hook up the part for rpm's... My stupidity

fairings off? I don't recall Johnny taking anything off but the fins, and it included rpms. I don't know, maybe I missed something.

You don't have to take off the fairings, they can clip to a coil wire at the ecu....if they know which wire.

Sounds like a bad dyno facility.

It is the dealership, and the guy doing it is a very knowledgable guy, but new to running a dyno. They were doing a contest for the month to whoever had themost hp won a gift card.
Shane if you get time, give me a call

160 rwhp for a zx14 is just too low IMHO.

A later gsxr 750 with a good full exhaust and the usual bolt-ons puts down
upward of 130 rwhp.

No one is commenting on the a/f... I'm not familiar with these charts, and would like to understand what is "the right a/f ratio"...
It looks like to me in the higher rpm's the a/f is correct. What I am not understanding is I talked to wheelie and he said the brocks map is something like -20 percent around max rpm (don't quote those numbers). Ok, I don't understand why the hp numbers are so low if the chart shows it close.. A pc will be comming, but not as soon as I'd like

The 08/09 bikes dyno at less hp than the 06/07 bikes. That was the case with all the magazine tests, and what I have seen on here for a year and a half. The 08/09's are just as fast, however. Why this is, I don't know. RG himself said the 08 was faster for him. Mine dyno'd 161hp and 99ft/lbs torque bone stock. With the Brocks smeg, pc, and the Cheese's tune, it was at 181hp and 108ft/lbs torque...and that was in high temp and high humidity. I wouldn't get too caught up in the numbers. The 08/09's have been proven and you are a good pilot, but if I understand correctly, you haven't ridden this one very much. Just ride it up, my man.

Dusty, that a/f doesnt make sense, if it is 13.1 with no ram air it would be extremely lean at 150mph, why would Brock be pulling so much fuel at wot unless it was over rich?

thats what im trying to understand, bc im not getting it. i made that pull sat not for good numbers, but to be at a starting point, and when i get a pc and brocks map, see the difference... just to try and get me to understand these things, as ive never had any dealings with them...

Dusty, not questioning you but why not run 87 octane? I hope someone chimes in if I'm wrong but I see guys running higher octane fuel quite often on NA bikes. Most of the time these bikes would run better with lower octane. With 87 octane the piston is able to get all the way up to the top without combusting the fuel which = more power. With higher octane it combusts faster and lower in the cylinder which = less power. I believe that you want combustion to occur at the very top of the cylinder for optimal HP. Shane????? Thoughts???? MR9 is like 91 octane for a reason.
