Shoot man, I'd like to ride in the 50's. That would feel soooooo goooood! The 14 seems to like it much cooler as well. By the way, if you do get a drag seat, put a gel seat on it. My first time out I actually bruised my tailbone. I could barely sit for two weeks. Hurt like a mofo.

Ok, put the rubber on the seat and sides of the tank. You can see it in this video. I took it out and did two real hard launches. This is not as good as the Catalyst seat I am sure but it did make a big difference. Not the prettiest thing in the world but functional.

Hey, if it's functional and helps... Have you been to the track you said is an hour from you yet? And are you strapping it? Get on down to the track and make some runs if you haven't, while you still have time.

My missus complained about sliding around on the back seat, leave it to a woman, she got some of that rubber matt tack stuff that you line the draws and cupboards with in the kitchen, cut it to fit on the seat and presto, no more sliding, not saying it will work for the drag boys but for the average joe that wants to mess around on the "dead end street" give it a try.........

I have only been to the track once and it was just to watch. The earliest test and tune is Sept 25th and I am going. It will be my first time drag racing and I can't wait. I will post how it goes, just hoping the weather is nice.

I am going to take off the rubber on the tank but leave it on the seat. I just don't like the looks on the tank at all.

Nice looking bike Big!

?Gator Skin? Snake Skin? some name like that was recommended to me by some friends who use it when I complained about how hard it was to stay planted on my seat when road racing. Stuff works great! Almost too good actually: grips so good you have to relearn how to slide off the seat in corners (combo of more effort and loosening grip around tank). It's self adhesive, 1/4" thick and very grippy. Works so good, it took me reading this thread to remind myself of how slippery my seat/tank area once was. Kinda spendy ($40? on E-Bay) but lifetime warranty even covers the adhesive. 2 years and counting.

Sounds a lot like the stuff I put on. Very sticky, almost too sticky.

I won't argue there! This was more just a test to see how much of a difference it made. I like it so much but just hate how it looks.

In the end it is probably a wash. Your bike looks better until you get on it My raw sex appeal offsets the ugliness of the pads being the sexy piece of man meat that I am.

Soooo, is that what all the guys you ride with tell yaa? might want to stop hanging out with the Starbucks crowd then.

Me personally, I go for the "I WILL eat you" look: all black gear, real big, real ugly n always sporting a perpetually pissed off look. I use the good ole Cave Troll looks god gave me just like he obviously had intended me too.
