Anybody still own there old school bike? I do (POST PIC)

Here is my oldie but a goodie. It's not a 14 but it is fast. 1985 Suzuki GS1150ES Turbo, It has a 1395cc MTC big block with turbo pistons, Ward big valve head with Web cams, Mr Turbo kit, Falicon crank and rods with strait cut gear, billet basket with lock up, race cut trans with billet 2nd and 3rd gear, HD studs through whole motor, basically an ex pro Mod motor with a streetbike trans and lowered comp. to run the turbo. Dyna 4000 Pro ignition with a Schnitz boost activaded timing retard, rear wheel widened to take modern rubber, Ohlins rear shock, 66" inch wheelbase. right now she makes 227 rear wheel H.P. on 93 pump gas at 8 pounds of boost. The ES has the faring which I don't like but it is all original paint with only 8K on the bike. The E looks better. At the track it looks like a touring bike and all the bikes jump on you. then when you run in the 8's in the 1/4 mile they all come and look at it. the 14 is nimble and sleek, the 1150 is a tank. it is fun to take out riding though. it's practically bullet proof.

1150

The E looks so much better. I like the 85 red and black, mines the 86 red and black. Man that XS11 is sweet, I had a 78 Z1R Kawasaki that a guy whipped me every which way possible on the street with the New back then XS 11. It had some kind of pipe on it and pod filters it would fly. Didn't that motor make it way into the FJ1100 and then 1200?.

Yep got my oldie but goodie ! Had it since like 1998 and I've resto modded it.
It's a 1983 Honda CB1100F original red and white. I've done a cbr600 F3 wheel swap on her . Dyna 2000 ignition , mikuni 38mm flatslides, ported head, wiseco 1123 bigbore kit, yosh pipe. Ran 12.00 in the 1/4 when la county raceway was still open.
Right now she sits with a #3 rod bearing that let go. She ran strong up till then lol!

Guess this could be considered old school by now, '94 ZX-11 D2, owned since new. I still like this bike.

The day her partner 14 came home:

The FJ motor was a closer relative of the 900 Seca motor, if I recall...

Shane, I saw that exact same VFR in England last year. Looked awesome,
and I am not a Honda fan, (sorry). Yours looks just as good!
Keep up the old boys, they've got style!!

I also appreciate the GS1150's. I remember when I first bought my '85 900 Ninja back in '85, on my way home from the dealer a GS1150 rolled up
beside me at 60 mph, whacked on the throttle, and rode a wheelie as he pulled away from me.
Very impressive at the time. My bike had less than 30 miles on it and I made no attempt to keep up.

Anyway, I've posted some of these pics up here before, but this is an appropriate thread...

How bout that , I got a gpz900 in my shop right now . I believe it's an 84. The customer complains that I haven't been able to get the parts it needs very quickly. I tell him it's an 84 what did you expect!
Nice machine and has plenty of power to burn

Yeah, I miss the old bikes too, until I ride one & realize how much better my new ones handle. Can you say headshake, frame flex, no brakes & crap suspension?

It's not too old school but it looks like one. I always loved the ZRXes but felt like they needed a tad more power.
I've still got a '78 KZ1000 that I bought new, June was 31 years.......whew, I'm getting old.
I'll try and get some digital pictures of it.

Great pics guys....................here is one of my old school bikes. I am a very fortunate fella to have had almost everything one would have wanted since 1973........I am actually too lazy to type the long list..........

In 1978 I took the first XS1100 we got in and promtly wrung it's neck for an hour or so.... I would have bought that "cruise missle" but had a 1978 KZ1000 ( green with gold stripe ) 1978 Z1R, and 1978 GS1000 in the garage. Man.......if I would have kept some of those bikes over the years...........
