I just brought my bike up to albuquerque, NM from houston, TX. I went for a short ride today and I noticed the bike was down on power, I think albq is at about 5 or 6 thousand feet. Houston was about sea level, I suspect this to be the reason. There is a small amount of poping on decel now, will this hurt anything? Im going to take it to the 1/4 mile a few times, then continue my trip to Washington State. Ill be there for 2 years and will most likely buy a PC and have it tuned when I get there if the problem remains there.

Higher elevations suck as far as power goes, but besides losing power you'll be fine, you won't hurt anything

My map is way rich in the Mountains..... installing the Bazzaz soon. Or you could
mess with the PCIII and - the fuel a little. PCV Auto Tune or load a "Mountain Map"
that is leaner for where you are ridiing. My 2007 does the same thing and I have
a Great Map for here in Texas(Fort Worth) but way Rich in the Ozark Mountains

FYI: If you liked how your bike ran in Texas, wait until you hit a 45-50deg crisp night launch at Pacific Raceways at near sea level.  That used to be why the NHRA always stops here- though if they dont fix the mid track bump that will stop soon I bet.

hey i live here in ABQ and i went and raced over in Houston in march i picked up almost a full second and 10 MPH down there compared to up here people have know idea how bad it is up here

Moses Lake???? You F*in kidding me? In the biggest middle of BFE on the West Coast?!? Only place more out in the middle of know where MIGHT be Death Valley down in California!
What on gods earth brought that decision into your head?? I sense some major family strings being pulled to get you up there. lol
However: its a great place to go in the summer if you are into boating, camping, and off roading. Can't believe there is actually people living there year round, thought they were all seasonal.... lol

Well baytown is the fastest 1/4 mile on earth. Thats right by houston. My bike kinda feels turdy here. Im going to run it tomorrow night at the abq dragway. Ill be the guy with the tx plates if you can show up.

Well big bend college has a great avaition program, and they have a 727 to train on, they are one of the best. No family up there, im with them now here in New Mexico untill I finish my trip to Moeses Lake.

Moses lake has one of the longest runways 13500 ft talk them into letting bikes use it for top speed runs. We need one in the northwest!

If Baytown is the fastest track with all the heat and humidity of Texas then Portland at 20 ft altitude and lots of cool weather must just about as fast.

Portland lacks the proper runoff and other safety features to run Top Fuel- which is how you get to call your track "The fastest track". Agreed about the conditions though: every time the Funny Car and Top Fuelers come to town to run at Pacific Raceways in Kent, you here the neverending comments about how this 'should be' one of the fastest tracks around with the dry air, cool air and near Sea level altitude. Too bad the track is tricky and slick, bites the new guys every time!
Anyone see the last time they ran Top Fuel at Pacific? Two weeks ago? I was working (again...) but saw it on TV that night and heard about it from my brother who was there: over HALF!! the cars spun bad leading up to the finals. Amazing, the only cars to make a complete run were the ultra conservative setups running .2-.3 seconds off there expected DA corrected times. Go figure: only the crews that had run here numerous times before went on to the finals.

Houston is only fast at certain times of fall and spring. Leaving the upper echelon of race cars out of the equation, Sacremento and Portland put up higher mph numbers throughout the season for your normal cars and bikes.

I never ran in the quarter yet. I run the 8th mile track south of houston, I run 6.5's at 114-115. (Slip on yoshi's). I did just regear with lighter vortex sprockets and a new ek chain, 17, 43. Have not run it since i regeared.

Your going to run 7.20s @ 108mph in the 1/8th.
11.15et @131mph in the qtr. with 1.85 60ft. time.

How did you get suspended??
i still don't have my NHRA licence so they gave me a 1 month vacation actually the suspension is up today, so i guess ill run the 1/8th till i get licensed

I was turned down by the tech guys, I was not aware of needing a kill teather. Or zip togather or one pice leathers. They said I could run if i stayed under 120mph, So I left and hit the streets for a night in albq.

That sounds slow, I saw a B-king getting into the 10's with mild mods at that track a few weeks ago during my last visit.

A kill switch (tether) is easy to adapt. Leathers should be worn on the street as well so I do not know why you don't have any.......IMHO.....it's your skin.

na i didnt see any other 14 out last night i had a run in with a 09 busa and a few 1ks and i wsa waiting around for that money race with that kid but he was a no show again
