Flaring foam pad??
On the inside of the flaring there is a foam padding, I was just wondering if it is necessary to keep it there or could you replace it with aluminum tape?? I have all new right side mid and lower flaring to go on so I was just wondering.Thanks.

Unless It's the foam which stops your legs from cooking, in which case keep it.

Only removing the padding on the foreman grills will result in increased heat
felt on your knees - anywhere else it's not needed.

You really don't need fairings ,foam pads , or heat shields.
Just take a look at this 14:

Speaking of the "rubber matting", does anybody know what exactly the stuff is supposed to be for?

I lost the piece of foam that sits on the lower right side of the fairing. My right calf gets pretty damn hot. I'm going to replace that little piece of foam next time I take off the plastics.

Yep those are the ones that seal out the heat form the rider. Nice when they're gone in the winter but then the summer time somes and the rider is toasted!
