Stretching...

I will be stretching the 14 around 4" or so. I have seen the EK ZZZ as a chain that seems to be on most people's short list. How long should I get? I am currently at 16/41 and will probably stay there for now, but a buddy has a 43 he said I could have so I may go that route. Difference in chain length? How is this combo on the road? Suggested brake line? How long? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, One extra thing I don't have to buy!

Halve!!! What is up my friend? Yours is 16-43, and its fine for everyday riding around? Let me know. I went to the track this last Wednesday for the first time in many months. Track was hotter than hades and twice as humid, but I managed to run a few 10.2's in only 5 runs or so. I didn't consider it a bad night considering the weather and the long layoff. In a few months, I got my house ready and sold it, bought a new home in Dripping Springs, got married to Miss Heidi, had a "celebration" weekend, took a trip to San Francisco/Monterrey (MotoGP), then moved two households into the new place; which is very cool, but a fixer-upper. We've been working our arses off. Bought the 999 Duc, and now ready to stretch the 14 a bit. Hope I see ya soon. David

You can use the stock brake line if you want it ot look like ass. You can't run the stock brake line using the same routing when you are stretched. You can use the stock brake line by running it down the side of the swing arm straight to the caliper. I bought an after market brake line from brocks and it retained the stock look and routing.

Smoke- Congrats on the wedding! sounds like has been good to you,
16-43 is great for the track, just don't grab a fist full of throttle on the street

I'm running 17-42 right now but I'm only @ 60" and have it geared to lug it not to wheelie.

I loved the 16/43 on the street. Just rode the 16/48 today for the first time, WOOOW talk about eating up some fuel bc you ride at 5,500rpm.. Not good for the street

I am looking at my stock brake line now (7.5 over). It looks nothing like ass. I can bearly see it. It is routed on the inside of the swing arm. It looks clean to me. And stops the bike everytime I use it. I have been running it for almost a year like this, no problems to report.
But to each his own.

I'll talk to J. Cheese about it, whether he would prefer a new brake line or not. Ordered the extensions today. So, you guys who have run 16/43 on the street/highway...not too bad, huh? I'm only going to stretch it around 4, so we'll see whether I stick with the 41 or go 43. Thanks for the congrats Rich. Yes, things have gone extremely well. Married, new house more out in the country, new twisty bike, about to get a new dog as well. Holy moly. Good times. Hope I see ya soon.
