#3 rod bearing?

Is it a weak link or just 1st to go with lug abuse? Other forums report this as a problem, just rolled 32.500 miles but never lugged the motor. Plenty of abuse but not at low rpm.

They were running syn not dino oil. Not a believer in syn. 18/49 sounds like a wise choice to keep the mechanical advantage and load off the bearings.

Nope, just all Kawasakis, with maybe one exception - the Ninja 250 doesn't seem to be affected.

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Yes, it's a problem. It's the last in the chain to get lubrication. If there are any pressure problems or cavitation, it bites the dust. I went through 3 of them before I just gave up and sold the bike, repaired, of course.
