Turbo exhaust manifold to exhaust pipe flange
My turbo and exhaust stuff should be here in a day or two and for the re-install I was thinking of putting some type of gasket between the turbo exhaust manifold to exhaust pipe flange. I believe the union was made to do without one, but seems like having one would better ensure no leaks in the future.
Anyone with some practical experience with this type of idea?

Flange to turbo and down pipe i use High Heat RTV ( The copper colored stuff ) Never had a leak ..

The problem with that stuff is it's a mess when you take it apart.
I like actual gaskets cause they don't make a mess, and you can reuse them sometimes.

I would prefer a hard gasket, but the shape of the outlet is not standard as far as I can tell.

in the ebay ad the 2nd images it gives the diaminsions of the gasket, maybe that will help?

hey tks.. just grapped a photo off internet of gasket, sized, placed and color'd it.
Looks like something from my K grade days!

all you have to do is use the copper high temp silicone and let it be, its been my experience on cars that the paper gaskets blow and the copper stays sealed. just check the bolts after a few heat cycles and you will be good to go.

That may be what I have to do, as one of the gaskets I ordered specifically for the Garret 30 turbo was too big...!

just apply the copper rvt, let it set up a few min...bolt up the down pipe and you are done. dont worry about the gasket, you do not need one. your search for a fix is over. hope this helps. it will even seal in applications that the two mating surfaces are not perfectly machined to fit one another.
