Seat padding
I've just picked up a very cheap never used seat.
I'm on a budget so am going to reupholster it myself, just for the track and keep the stock one for road use, so I'm not worried about comfort.
My plan is to remove the vynal , then cut and remove the padding in front of the higher rear section, leaving the original rear profile to fit the rear cowling with no gap.
Then use as thin a layer of foam as possible to get lower without the expense of a catalist seat! I will reuse the original vynal cover.
Never done this before so looking for hints on what type / thickness of foam to use etc.
Thanks

Another question , should I glue the new foam to the seat base?

Soooooooooo, did you redo your "very cheap never used seat" yet?
____________
You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Aust $100 off a forum sponsor over here that has 2 zx14's.
It came off one he set up for racing, never met him, but have heard he is a stand up guy.
It will work out heaps cheaper for me and be quick and easy to swap over.
I'm just a test/n/tune racer with dreams bigger than my capabilities and budget!!!
As far as I know I have the worlds slowest nitrous 14!
You Americans are lucky , cheaper parts and in stock! Everyone here is a bloody Busa lover!

Get the firmest foam you can find, if its thin no problem just double or tripple stack it with glue...
I recommend sitting on the plastic base of the seat while its on the bike and get a feel for it, MAKING the seat as comfortable as possible by putting padding in the center only...
