Whenever you pull the pan

Just because you dont see anything in the pickup screen doesnt mean there isnt stuff in there. Wash the thing out with a can of brake cleaner and blow it out with compressed air from the pump side of the tube. I was amazed what came out of mine. There was a lot of it. Mostly gasket material, clutch fiber, and a few factory machining shavings. Nothing hardly came out before using the brake cleaner so be sure to get you a can. When you do go to pull the pan and get a new gasket make sure to get new 670D2016 (2each) o-rings for the steel oil tube. Mine were in bad shape.

Very good advice. I also used Brake Kleen on mine, and inspected the o-rings closely.

Something else too. When you put the pick-up tube back in the case it is easier to put the rubber seal in the case first and then push the tube in after. Trying to push it in with the seal on the tube can be hell.

I had reused my gasket the first time I pulled the pan and it didnt leak until a month later. Got that one to stop leaking and one started on the other side of the pan a month after that. I have an oem gasket this time but next time its going to be a Cometic like my clutch cover has.

To add grease on all the o-rings is a good idea for reassembly to insure you dont tear an o-ring
