Here's the latest motorcycle testing of a few oils. Hope you all enjoy. You can also see more on testing in links on our web site.

DUB . i've run amsoil before .. i found it to be no better than any other oil when used for drag-strip passes .. it was just as contaminated as any other oil after 30 passes .. the oil color change was not from oil wear but clutch contaminates that are to small for a filter to catch ..

on top of that i've got 1 of the biggest amsoil dealer nutts in the houston area that i ride with ..and amsoil will crawfish on a oil warranty just like the other brands .. we've had some longggggggggggggggggggggggg debates at breakfast over oils ..
Crawfish! I'd like to debate.(hehe) I would sure like to know of any claims. Proof would be in an oil analysis.

I use Mobil 1 motorcycle 10w40 and my 14 always has the CCT rattle on cold start.
It only has 6500 miles and has been serviced every 2500 miles. It pisses me off
that Kawasaki does not have a fix for this. I am waiting on Bill to do his mod on a
ZX-12CCT so I don't have to listen to it. But I will try the Amsoil and see how if it
works on my 14 and for how long on fresh oil.
Thanks Bently

Louis

They do have a fix it's called APE. Install the manual tensioner and your problems are gone forever. Best mod I've done so far and it only cost $50.

Well it will take you longer to remove the plastics than it will to actually install the tensioner. Very simple.

crawfish thats a perfect word for it... but how many motors has amsoil ever paid for .. kinda like a carpenter paying to replace warped wood that the sun cooked or the lumber yard paying or should the wood mill pay .. but in the end the customer pays for it while the other 3 bicker it out forever ..

Had one on a FJ120015 years ago. Don't wont to mess with another manual.
This bike is still in warranty and I do long trip to the mountains. Waiting on Bill
Eason he does a mod on the ZX-12 CCT.

I run Amsoil in everything I own. When I had my '00 ZX-12, I bought it with 10,000 miles, then I put 2000 drag strip passes on it. The only reason it spun a bearing after 2000 passes was my fault from installing a low cut oil pan and I starved it from getting the needed oil.

Call me crazy, but I run 75-100 passes before I change it. I have 1200+ passes on my '06 ZX-14 with no engine issues, and it still runs just as quick as it did 3 years ago. It comes out looking almost like new, and I bottle it back up and run it in my lawn mowers, generators, and go kart.

In my Dodge diesel, I change it at 15,000 miles, but it is said to be good for 25,000 miles or one year.

Anyone can get Amsoil at a preferred customer cost. Just sign up on the Amsoil website and pay a small membership fee and you can buy as much as you want and get it shipped right to your door.

Can you show me where I can find the claims? I'd really like to see them. I've never heard of the oil failing. Sounds like your clutch had an issue prior to Amsoil, but you can bet that Amsoil will prolong the use of your clutch. And just a reminder for everyone to clean their oil pickup after the initial breakin period.

Hey Patrick, I used to run there with the AMRA on my Harley Sportster a few years ago. I don't think we've met yet. I've run the 14 at State Capitol. Just three times to the track so far. Taking baby steps but fixing to give it full throttle on Friday nite. You may remember people talking about a Harley guy doing a 12o'clock super man style and had to let go. Sad to say that's how people remember me there. Any way, in the future I'd like to go back and get the NHRA liscence there. Look forward to meeting you.

For one single time ran Mobil 4T racing 10-40. Cam rattle went away then cam back the next day. The ratchet must have reset. Long story short, 31,650 miles on Kawi 10-40 . Ape made the rattle go away for the last couple thousand miles. Always hated auto tensioners.

I don't use kawi oil. I had approx 45 passes on my 14 and burnt the clutch completely up. Switched to maxium synthetic then run rotella synthetic and good clutch after at least 300 passes

That's funny right there because with kaw oil in mine the clutch went after 31 runs and I always get 200 passes or better. then i switched to suzuki oil and I have 120 runs right now so we will see how many more it goes but I have the amsoil in it right now.

Using the Cycle Logics lockup and Amsoil, I was able to get 550 passes on my clutches. The steels still looked near new. The fibers weren't burnt at all, but had gotten thin. Other than thin fibers, I could have gone alot longer.
