Second trip to the 1/8th mile

I did 30+ runs lastnight. Best was a 6.5214 @ 115.09 60ft- 1.7177 330ft 4.3868 I was running 20lbs of psi in the rear tire to get good traction. My bike is a stock 08 14 with just a r-77 slip on system. I weigh 190lbs geared up. Is there much more to be had with my stock bike? Or is this about as fast as i can go in the 8th stock?

When I was swb lowered and exhaust I ran 6.31's with a 1.61 60ft. And if I can do it, I know you can! Just seat time.

Be careful putting 30+ runs in. To me that's insanity. I remember you saying that you were a big guy. Stock height and short wheelbase you are really killing your clutch and just frying your oil. The temps in that motor had to be hottttt.

We make 20 t0 23 runs almost every tnt we go to no issues at all. and we all get 200 plus passes out of r clutches so I would not worry about much. and not lowerd those are good times lower and strap it and you should see 6.30's at least. my buddy is 230 in gym clothes and ran 6.293 last night on his 08 busa just lowered and strapped with yosh slip-ons had a 1.585 60ft to do it.

You know my bike has 13,000+ miles of hard riding on the factory clutch, and it still feels great.

Ok, so its two votes against one......keep doing 30+ passes on your bike and have fun doing it. I find it hard to believe that anybody would think that it is good to hot lap a bike that many times?

I think it's fine, 23 runs in 4 hours so I average about 5 an hour some nights. and temp never goes above half and clutch is never burnt. Last night i would do 3 runs in about 15 minutes then park for about 15 to 20 minutes and talk with the wife and boy then 3 more. only did 14 runs last night tho I was tired for some reason.

in ga you can't do 5 runs a hour without it getting too hot, guess it depends on where u live. I'm with noob, I'm not making that many passes in that short of a time, just too much on the oil and clutch.

You guys must not race either then, I run two classes always 9.50 and street et and if i do well like this year can do15 passes or more just on a race day. usally takes 8 or 9 runs counting time trails just to win the 9.50 class. unless it's close to 100 out 5 runs in an hour your bike should not be hot. guess it also depends on how you leave if your one that slips the shit out of the clutch and puts alot of heat in it guess maybe it would get hot. I hardly slip the clutch at all. Problably why my steels are never burnt or blue. I had my best 60 ft last night 1.44 just gotta get that 1.39 to 1.40.

Well, last night I ran 3 passes in an hour and I had 5 bars after the second pass. My fan was running as I did my 3rd run that hour. I normally have to run my fan in between runs to cool the clutch. I just don't see how your bike is not piping hot after that many passes (the clutches) I have 60ft 1.40 at a good track so I don't think I slip the shit out of my clutch. (maybe I do) I posted 3 slips from last night all with decent 60ft times. Maybe it does have to do with where you live. I live in Florida.

Im quick on the clutch. My bike never got hot at all. I use royal purple oil, and factory coolant. Im not saying im not shortening the life of the oil and clutch, but i was shocked to see that the clutch still felt great after 13000 miles, and then a night of hard racing. Only thing i noticed was the factory chain stretched quite a bit last night, but still within spec. P.S. I live south of Houston TX, it was hot as hell lastnight at the track too.

I run semdra. 2 classes. Set and ultra street (6.0) it's a concidence my 2 classes aren't next to each other. There's a difference in having to run back to back and doing it over and over...

You can hot lap the shit out of a 14.....

I made 6 back to back passes, and I mean back to back...Made a pass came back down the return road, then did a quick burnout, staged and made the next pass...6 times !!!!!...Im sure the 14 can handle 10 back to back passes, I was going to but was told to give it a rest...lol...That day the 14 I was riding made a total of 36 passes and clutch was still good!!!

Temp was 85 degrees, clutch still felt good.....Was NOTHING like the feel of a ZX12 after 3 back to back passes, not even close to the feel of the 12 clutch!!!!!
