That's what stops me from using amsoil.

quote: Amsoil works best. 25000 mile oil change intervals with a waranty in vehicles. Did you see Smokins clutch grab results in the what oil to use thread? It will be interesting to see his final results in the future. We are giving the best pricing we can possibly give to bikeland members. You will be surprised for what we can get it to you door for. AcadianaZX, I'll be hitting you up for some of that Amsoil. I've heard a lot of great things about it as well as Rotella.

Bently, u ever owned a ZX-11? 14 is far better than that. Much better. Mines shift extremely fluid. I do have a friend who complains about how hard his cluncks into first gear.

I am a fan of using diesel 15W-40 in my bikes for quite a while. I am fortunate to be able to use Shell Rimula in my bike and get it in bulk from work. Pay 2.25/gallon for mine. Rimula is the fleet version of their oil and costs less than Rotella because of less marketing costs. According to one of their engineers, it actually out-performs the Rotella. We use it in all of our diesel generators and have had to go extended runs between changes ( > 250 hrs) and have had excellent results. I think the cost of these ridiculous "motorcycle specific" oils is highway robbery. I am more than willing to do a long term test using a dino diesel oil vs the 14.00/qt oil any day. I have almost 20K miles on my 14 and she runs great. And I don't necessarily baby my bike either!

Ninja, I like the way my ZX-14 shifts, but have to say my ZX-11 shifts smoother.

Kool! I owned a black 94 and the candy wine 96 ZX-11, loved them both and they were great bikes and still looks good today. I feel the 11 was way before its time in looks even though it was quite heavy but the tranny on the 14 is much tighter. The gears feel like they don't have as much space between them like the 11. Time definitely improves techmology.

My brother had a 03 R1 and I thought the tranny on it was pretty smooth and solid...

My 03 R1 had the slickest tranny I've ridden as far as clutchless upshifts are concerned. I was just as fast footshifting it as I am with a button on the 14. VERY easy/quick shifting tranny IMO.

I'd have to agree. My 03 R1 had the slickest tranny I've ridden as far as clutchless upshifts are concerned. I was just as fast footshifting it as I am with a button on the 14. VERY easy/quick shifting tranny IMO. And yes, it had Rotella in it.
