Here's the manual. Got the head back on, need to be 100% sure I get the timing right this time.

looks good as long as the cams aren't reversed and the chain is tensioned. in the manuel pic it shows silloettes of the first cam lobes, make sure yours are pointing in the same direction. with the spark plugs removed rotate the crank clockwise two revolutions and recheck your marks

That looks right.
Be sure to have a friend hold the chain tight on the exhaust cam side or safety wire it so it can't jump when the cam caps are torqued down,
Mine jumped a tooth on me the first few times when I intsalled them, and when I went to turn the motor over it had resitance, so I had to redo my work.

Ok, thanks. Those pictures were taken after I did the 2 rotations to set the chain tensioner so it ended up where I wanted it.

I didn't have help, so to hold tension on the chain I installed the tensioner about half way while I torqued everything, worked pretty good.

Yeah,
I have adjustable cams sprokets, and a .050" head gasket, that might have been part of my struggle.

Hey Mike! I just had them do the head work, I was very tempted to let them re-assemble the whole thing but decided to give it another try. I got the timing right so unless I screw up something else I should be alright. At least I learned something I guess!
