AMA Streetfighter Class... Need some advise
Hey guys need a bit of help to speed up my learning curve. I am considering running the 9.50 heads up class at Indy Prostar but need to know how you guys are slowing the bike down. As of now I am -1 front and stock on the rear and shift at 10300 to run 9.20's, is shifting earlier the way to go or what? I would like to keep my launch the same just due to running the other classes as well. Any advise is appreciated.

Don't know your weight but I've won 4 9.50 races this year and here is my set-up. 63.5 inches works great for .070 or better lights on the pro tree. -1 and up 2 in the rear with my gearing. in very hot and humid air I shift at 10,000 to run 9.50 and have 1.50 to 1.52 60 fts. this last weekend in the cool air I had to shift at 8800 to slow down enough. I'm using 87 pump gas as well. hope your stretched or cutting a light will be hard. not saying it can't be done but I can't do it.

Thanks guys, I am 64.5 wb and normally 60 1.45 if I am not trying to kill it, I am horrible on a protree but it sounds like fun so I guess I will have to get better or go home. Years ago I used to run super comp on my dragbike and always liked the heads up part.

My 60fts are not as good on the pro tree, so if your going 1.45's I think you will be in the 1.49 to 1.52 range on the pro tree.

Why are your 60' times different with a pro tree?? Just curious since reaction times have nothing to do with 60' times.
Or do you launch your bike differently with a pro tree compared to a sportsman tree??

Thanks Josh, going to keep the bike and race it when I can. Thanks for the heads up Bently, I went to test and tune tonight to start dialing the bike in but there was no traction so it was a waste of time.
