Just a rant ( downed riders)
Well just a bit of a rant if I may , just prior to the end of my shift with 20 mins to go 2 motorcycles went down . Being so close to the end of my shift I didn’t get to attended these poor fellows, I finished my shift and geared up and departed on my Hour long commute home in the 4 months I have been commuting around these cagers I ether was preoccupied thinking if the downed riders where hurt and lapsing a little or the drivers where just that little bit more aggressive then normal . As I made my way out onto Hwy 1 saw the backed up traffic from one of the crashes , I worked my way over to the HOV lane I was promptly nudged out of the way by a driver that did not see me nor hear my Horn as I put my foot against his van to protect my Dam bike I stayed up right as it was less then 2 km an hr he speed off back out of the HOV lane to the regular lane and I was to torqued to Have grabbed the license number to report this Donkey. A few Km later as a rider on a zx10 pulled up to me I explained what was the cause of the backed up traffic and we talked about some idiot drivers and rides that had taken place as we passed the crash site I saw a wrinkled up silver concours hanging from a tow truck and a impact site where to me it looked like a donkey driver punted the concours into the no post in the Hov lane , I guess in the end I hope whom ever it is there ok and not one of our Family . F%$ing cagers ANYHow .

It's a simple fact and one of the risks we have to accept when riding. You either put your game face on and be prepared to deal with cages or you don't ride.
I tend to put the burden on ME rather on some hapless cager. I can only control ME, so I start there. It's served me well for close to 25 years.
I see too many folks blaming cagers for bike accidents...a lot of them are direct results of the rider putting too much faith in that cager. You can't do that. I won't even go into the rider ability stuff...
Glad you are still upright.

Option 3, track days!
Support your local race track, improve skills, have the time of your life. No obstacles to hit, animals or debris in the road, nor any po-po. Good times and tire warmers.

of course....you learn more in one day than you will on the street in 5 yrs. I've found that doing trackdays have made me a MUCH safer rider simply because I have learned what I am capable of doing and what the bike can do as well.
I'd be willing to bet most of the accidents out there would never happen had the rider had the skills to react to the situation. Most panic and screw up a perfectly good save, OR give up and commit to crash. .02

yes I would love to attend some track days myself. eventually when i am situated that is the first thing I will be doing. Its worth it dude.

I have also attended track days this is not a bitch about my abilties meerly the jack ass Drivers out there , I learned far more about riding then one could possible in track days while attending a motorcycle police rider course , but non the less guys was just a rant is all Cheers

great rant, the track makes me forget all those real world probs too 
plus the sky gets bluer and the trees get greener every time the knee puck hits pavement
