causes for lower mph

hey guys looking for things that may causes a 5-6 mph drop. i know bad air is one thing that can effect mph. but along with mph my 60ft has also drpped bike seems sluggish out the hole and i'm stuck at one45 mph. my ets. suck they are down 2to3 tenths. clutch may not be the issue. steels and fibers look great,i'm not one to slip the clutch so i dont go through clutches.custom map that pulled a 9.044 et in may cant do more than 9.30s now.any and all help -advice is appreciated. need help i'm lost never had this problem before.

I'm in SE Texas and I have been going through the exact same thing since May. It is the air here. Did the exact same last year. Might not be your issue though but could be if your map was set up on a cool, dry, and dense day.

it was definitely hot and muggy - would this effect 60ft times also?

It is possible that it hurt your 60ft times but not likely. Your MPH is down due to the the air. I live in Florida and went to the track Friday and everybody was way off.

That's normal for zx12's & 14's during the summer heat and humidity...

Take the air filter out or take out the power commander if you have a stock motor!!!

If you are running a tuned PC map of some type, that map is good for the general conditions when the tune was made. Cooler or more warm days/hotter days can change the A/F enough to make differences in quarter miles by 1/8 to 1/4 second, though the A/F was only effected by a few tenths change. I have seen a few bikes hit the jump off point in A/F, where up to a certain change, no noticible difference, and then .1 more change and loose 10 HP and notably more poor TTD.

I have three maps for general purpose: summer (hot) spring/fall, and winter.

You can try a leaner map and that should help some ..You can't get it all the ET and MPH back but you might get a little back ..Not really much you can do, engines just don't run well off hot air and water ..
