New Springs do I need valves?
I went to racetech yesterday and had a sag adjustment, they called it. I know I need to get new springs , because I am about 260 and I plan to have my wife ride with me in the future. They were suggesting springs and valves? Do I really need the valves?

No ..... the valves are not a must !
They are an improvement over stock ..... but unless your an agresive canyon
kinda guy ~ the springs will do what your looking for.

What weight springs?
I ask because the valve has to control the spring, and a very stiff spring with soft valves is not very good. 7 wt oil will help though.
at very least I would put 7 wt oil in it, the stock valves will become somewhat stiffer, to complement the new springs.\
Valves are nice though...and if you can afford it do it.
Stock the 14 is sprung and valved for ~150 lb jockey, and 260 plus a friend is quite a stretch
...especially if you want it to really handle, like Bob has said.
