Upgrade questions/Ready to inhance the 14
Ok Fellas, I have some extra $ and choose to enhance my 14. It's been about 3 years and I'm going to stretch my bike about 5 inches and I wanted to get the 16 tooth sprocket that won't make noise while riding(I think people have been using the 16 tooth from a ZL1000).
questions:
1-What's the name/part number of the 16 tooth sprocket I need?
2- What chain should I get(keep in mind I ride my 14 a lot! and have not currently raced before at the track)?
Any additional info would be appreciated! Thanks!

I've found a 16 thooth sprocket reciept that has part number AC131441317
From memory it is of the Zephyr and has rubber sides to reduce noise!
I heard that for street use EK ZZ 530 Xring is the go .

Douglas, do you know where I can purchase this at. I've searched the web but have not found one that has the rubber side(in description)?

The part number for the OEM Kawi Zephyr 1100 sprocket is 13144-1317.
It fits and has rubber sides and makes no noise.

Zepher sprocket is around 20 bucks. I had difficulty getting mine one with the brand new chain seemed really tight so i just went with the vortec 16 tooth, works great dont hear any noise but my bike has a brocks also. As far a a chain RK ZZZ 530 chain. O-ring so keeps out the dirt for street riding. And dont forget the extended brake line. You can use the factory line with just a five inch extension but I think you have to grind off the tab and turn the line so it bolts to the caliper from the front instead of the line comming in from the back of the bike. Someone else who has done that can verify me on that. Post some pics of it when your done!!

Thanks pazx14rider, You bet I will post pics! Hey I believe that I've read that an O-ring chain is not the way to go if your street riding and has constance oil maintenance(above normal stock chain cleaning and oil application). Any truth to that or am I backwards on my memory?

I think that for a streetbike that also races at the track an oring or xring is the go
A track only bike will have less parasitic loss with a non oring chain but more maintenance and cleaning Doug

OK, I'm searching the web and I seem to have found a 530 ZVX2 x-ring. Any suggestions(it says for Busa and 14)? Just wanted to make sure I got the right chain before I spend $200. This is the 1st bike that I've stretched. Thanks!

Yes x-ring or O-ring is what you want for street riding. I would go with the o-ring a little better quality chain. Compare your Tensile strength. Schnitzracing.com gives a good description of all the chains and applications if your still searching.

Nevermind folks, I've researched the threads and found the answer(yes). I'm thankful searching keywords, chain length got me close and I didn't have to spend a long time looking.
