i found out what happens when boost regulator hose falls off
zx14 stumbs like a mofo for a second as it charges to full boost 25lbs .. i can't believe its no harm done .. but motor is fine ..i guess i'm 1 lucky mofo ..
in short went for my normal morning ride to have coffee .. when getting on interstate i WOT it and it stumbs and then charges forward ..wheeling in 5th gear .. i look down and see a/f and boost gauge about the time i shift 6th and go fluck 25lbs of boost and 14.6 a/f ..

i had done a compression test last tune up with spark plug replacement .. had 195lbs straight across with 10,000 miles and 400 drag passes with boost range as high as 14lbs ..
maybe i should do another before next tune up .. but i have no blow by coming from breather ..

I would be worried more about the rod bearings you just crushed/made square. The least I would do is drain the oil and cut open the oil filter looking for "sparklies". There's a real good chance replacing rod bearings is in your near future.

reminds me of the time my fuel pump quit working on my nitrous. instant 1/4 mile wheelie thru the traps. took me a sec to figure out what was going on.

sound advice.. but i hear no knock and and i'd just changed oil and filter last weekend dang-it
but every oil change i've had aluminium sparkies in my drain pan .. no copper sparkies tho .. what do you use to cut the filter with i screw that up every time .. .. i also done went for several runs already today @10lbs and WOT and no issues .. i think that the way i've dog on it today after fixing hose something would show .. and i'm 1 them guys that if it ain't broken don't mess with it ..

You won't hear the rod knock til it's too late. Use a hack saw to cut open the filter. Your looking for Babbet bearing pieces. Should be pretty easy to see, just unwind the filter past the filing from the saw. As far as aluminum shaving, dunno what's up with that.

i think all of them have aluminum sparkies .. hacksaw is what i've used ..but you get so many metal shavings from cutting the filter .. i've got a pipe cutter maybe i'll try that next time..
remember back in the day the magnet drain plugs and all the metal that would be on them ..

bike ran fine did a 100 mile ride and several WOT roll-ons ..no issues.. thats why i use the avgas Dub even if i mix it 50/50 with pump i feel safer .. And i credit avgas with keeping my bike running even with problems i had with my shifter.. i had mis-shifting on the track at least 50 times until i got problem solved .. tire spins also .. i pay 3.75 a gallon it was 3.15 a gallon until recently here
Reeves i know that aftermarket sells them ..but i've just haven't purchased 1 yet for my bike.. i think mother kawi don't want us to see all the metal on the drain plug

when you say mis-shift...did you ever have it pop out of gear? I only had that happen once, but I didn't like it...(popped down 3-->2 under power from a bad shift).

NO i never had it jump out of gear .. What i installed was an MPS auto-shifter with kill and wanted auto-shifting .. but problem was if motor unloads off of tranny ( like tire spin or clutch) or not enough delay time it won't go into the next gear ..it will stay in the current gear it spun in and hit the rev-limitor ..
