Yep and all because we are all to lazy or content to do nothing about the green freaks. I am sorry if some of you guys are offended, but this shit the world is ending,the world is ending,we must all stop living to save the fucking whales, is bullshit. Do you want to go back to horse and buggy and out houses? Fuck that,this country was built on being better and doing better with innovation and hard dirty work. The crime of it all is you have let these nuts make you feel either guilty or responsible for wanting and taking what you have worked so hard for, the arrogance to think that we can as people make one bit of difference to the way this planet behaves!! It's something i will never understand how so many can go a long just so no one messes with mine. Wake up,and can someone explain to me how you charge all these batteries for cars,bikes whatever without some other form of energy? also were does the refuge from it all go. Give me a fucking break............................Bill

I'm not a fan yet and look to the possible spinoffs of new technologies/products specifically light weight materials/componets which can be used in non green machinery as well as the trickle down of longer charge life for consumer battery powered items etc .
Change can be good sometimes...

Of course you have to put energy in to get energy out, but how much of what you put in do you get back out? I don't know specifically about the motors used in this bike, a tesla roadster, ect... But i do know in genral a worst-case efficiency in large DC motor-drive combinations is about 70 - 75%. I believe a fairly efficient internal combustion engine is maybe 25% efficient. Right now the energy density of batteries is nowhere close to that in a tank of gas. Once it gets there, the internal combustion engine cannot compete. Companies like Tesla motors are in it for profit and would not be if electric vehicles did not make economic sense in the long term.
