Factory Pro or Muzzy

I'm thinking about purchasing some velocity stacks. I noticed that Factory and Muzzy makes this for the 14. Which would you guys choose and does the bike have to be remapped once installed. I've heard different opinions in regards to the mapping.

On a stock 14 I think it is a waste of $$ for the small gain you get.

All they do is slightly shift your torque curve. Depending on your setup and riding style, it can help..or hurt. As far as a/f, it is not going to be a huge difference. But to get the most out of the mod, you should check/adjust a/f.

I thought about those. But for a normally aspirated setup they looked like they would be bad for flow. The part I am talking about is the billet sections where the hoses clamp on. There are internal ridges where the flow will be affected.

I bought my Factory pro long stacks from Schnitz.

They had the best price when I was shopping last year.

BTW you will not notice any difference, especially if you're geared and/ or
Brocked like me... I couldn't tell any.

"masszx14" you didn't notice any difference at all? Did you ever dyno bike afterwards and do you have to remap bike after the velocity Stack install?

I had an Alien Head and was at 16/43 when I first put them in.
My bike was also on a severe diet and MUCH lighter than stock.
I never remmaped afterwards but my tune was even better than the
Brock's maps I have. Tough to tell a 3 rwhp gain at 6K rpm IMHO

With the stroker you have you are more likely to notice the power increase.

Velocity stacks are not the kind of thing you do expecting the bike to "feel" more powerful. You may see a small difference at the traps, but that is it. They are one of the last things you do in order to optimize your setup.

If you have to ask about mapping, then you probably aren't that concerned about the 2 peak hp they might give you. Yes, the bike will run fine with the same mapping. No, it won't be optimized for the change in your intake tract.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I have Factory Pro and they were very easy to change out. I'm not 100% sure but I believe Factory Pro makes the stacks for Muzzy. You might want to call Muzzy to confirm.

Flyboy, how do you like them and did you switch them out yourself?

masszx14, my bike is bored, not stroked. I don't know if that makes a difference based on what your statement was referring to in regards to the stacks.

It depends on what your using your bike for...

If I really had to get them, then I would get the stacks for top end!!!

But I say they are a waste of $$$

The only way to definitively tell is probably on a dyno and I didn't do a before and after test. I have top end ones and I did set three more records in September so I guess they did do well. I do not notice any difference on the street but that's not why I put them on. I didn't change them out myself but my friend did and he said he said it was quite simple and didn't take long.
