Exhaust Sound

Could everyone reading this post a video of their bike running so everyone could hear the exhaust? I'm about to get a new one but am clueless because i don't know how any of them sound. It would be a whole lot easier than visiting all the websites and half of them don't even let you hear the exhaust.

save yourself some effort and worry, any full system exhaust you find here is the ticket.

brocksperformance.com

For slip-ons, the best is here:

I have considered both of them but i wanted to see the other brands out there. Besides i'm not shelling out over a grand for something just to find something i like better a week later. If i was the type of person to do that i would have a slow ass busa instead of my ZX14.

For all out performance go with Muzzy M14 or M10. Though not as popular on here I.M.H.O. they are equal to brocks meg, sound better, look better, cost less. Go to youtube.com and type in zx14 exhaust there are several to listen to. Not totally perfect audibly but decent reproduction. Here is one.

Muzzy is good, but if you want a great pipe with the best customer service you'll ever see then go with Brocks. Send him an email on Sunday afternoon and he'll be sending you one back from his Blackberry while he's at an AMA dragrace working on his bikes.

If you have the flow I'd go with Brock's new CT-series, but if you want sound and the growl gets progressively louder from Gen 3 cannister to Street meg, Short meg, and the Alien Head.

I don't think you'll be disappointed in the sound of any of them, but performance is close. If you are racing on a track, I think Brock's has the edge.

Brock's maps and customer support are unequal in the motorcycle industry...I think many others will agree.

+1

Yeah I dealt with both companies (my original exhaust order for my 14 was from Muzzy) and I'll never do business with them again. Brock's support was just the opposite.

I have the Yoshimira 4 into 1 carbon system. Great performance and looks but its a bit quiet for my taste. I was not expecting that from a 1358 CC engine. I will probably take a look at my packing and see if it makes a difference.

Well, my experience was the opposite. Excellent with Muzzy's and sorry but piss on you with Brock's. Besides that both them make good pipes with good power and sound.

I've had both...Muzzy M14 and Shortmeg...currently running the Brock Shortmeg:

The Shortmeg is more aggressive sounding while riding. My Muzzy was the stainless oval.

Everyone has their own opinion. I like the Brocks over Muzzy and I have had both. They are both good pipes but just like the sound of the Brocks better. The Muzzy is a bit quiet.

As others have said check out youtube for video and sound of different exhaust. My unbiased opinion is that both Muzzy and Brock have great exhaust and probably not enough horsepower difference to quibble over. I have owned many Muzzy exhaust over the years starting with my KZ1000 LTD to my ZX-11. Had a HMF on my ZX-12 and a Brock's shortmeg on my ZX-14. That being said, the customer service and map support and other intangibles give Brock the edge in my book. If it's strictly a hardware decision pick the one you like for whatever reason ( looks, sound etc. ) if not my experience is Brock's customer service is above and beyond what is expected!!

If you can't tell I'm a Brock's customer for life.

Just my $.02

The smeg is music to my ears...
A bit loud if you whiskey throttle, or hammer on it around town, quiet enough to cruise through the neighborhood at 2000 rpm, but absulutely sounds HORNY at 11,000 rpm!

Last week a little box arrived at my tiny but quaint home in the village. I thought my wife had ordered a new pair of lovely shoes. I carefully opened the small container to find pieces of cardboard trash looking like they had emerged from some distant carriage house sale. I was greatly disappointed and almost began to cry. "We already have too much disaray in our tiny home already", I thought to myself. "Why would the wife buy more rubbish?" In anger I reached out and began to poke around at the trash at my feet. And then suddenly, I broke into a smile-- and wiped away the tear. It wasn't a piece of trash at all-- it was.... It was.... Brock's smeg. Grinning from ear to ear I unwrapped those lovely headers and cradled them to my cheek. "Thank you Lord. Thank you!" Rushing to my feet, I suddenly found myself skipping across the village lawn calling out to my neighbors, "It's here. It's here!". "You must come see it"! The neighborhood suddenly came alive with cheering and laughter as people by the scores emerged from their lovely little homes. They had been waiting so long and now it had finally arrived. Old people, young people, dogs and cats-- they all came running to see the beautiful gift that lay at my doorstep. There was laugher and tears and my quaint little carriage house had become the towns' focus of attention. Oh yes it was a joyous day and we all celebrated.

Today my lovely little smeg is mounted to my carriage and it is such a thrill to behold. Village people can hear me from all around. In fact, people in the village next to my village can hear me from all around.

And I have no need to let the lovely little misses know when I'm coming home for supper for she just has to listen for that lovely little sound to know I'll be home within the half hour.

Yes, thank you Brock for bringing our family and village together.

cant believe none of you Brocks lovers even mentioned my video, the one you all have seen that I posted last week where the first thing I do is (same video, same time) have the different bikes rev up so we can hear the difference between the Smeg, ALien Head, and M14 with canister. Watch the rest of the video if you want the dyno results.

Skip to :50 for the comparison. FYI: both the Smeg and my M14 sound alot better with higher revving. But that ALien Head Brocks if F*in loud.

If we were sheep we'd be riding a Busa. Quality and customer service sell and it obvious from the responses here and walking around an AMA Dragbike paddock.

Maybe you need to take a look in the mirror. I remember a guy on here said he got bad service from an employee at Brock's, there was a quick response and that guy got taken care of by the man.
