OH NO PROBLEMS!!
I was racing my friend on his 07 Mr turbo 14 and at around 170 mph or so his motor let go. Blue smoke was everywhere. Bike wont crank but will fire..........I say melted pistons. What do you all think?

If the crank bearing let go, it could spray as in a, 'splash lube' scenario ... Where the tiny shell disintegrates, it splashes up the skirts, can begin a snowball effect so as to tear the skirt or sheer aluminum off it. The rub starts to make metal to metal contact. No oil to cool. The score becomes bigger. The heat a lot hotter. The melt begins and then welds the piston to the cylinder. The rings are locked from the debris. The smoke begins to burn in the chamber. You see smoke shoot out before the engine locks up either by the piston to wall or crank to rod weld..
Something like that too and not a hole in the piston say is another way debris cocks the piston and there she adds to the mess of skirt seize.

Most have melted the ring land off the top ring beside the exhaust valve pockets, especially if it is stock pistons.
-2mm rods with special +2mm compression height turbo pistons would be recommended replacement.

I've heard that when the zx14 gets above 170+mph, the oil is mostly towards the back and you'll hear some knocking. I haven't personally experience it but I wondered if that's true.

He has{or had}turbo pistons in his bike, water injection and running 8lbs of boost no timing pulled. Bike has been spitting oil for some time but he assumed it was the tube from his crank pushing oil through the crank vent.

don't know if it has a scavenger pump or not ... but that's a good place to start ...without seeing the bike ..
i've eaten a few pistons and from what your saying bike turns over with spark but won't start.. and most time the scav pump is tie to the fuel pump fuse

Do a compression test and drop the oil pan.
One or the other will point you in the right direction.
