engine out and apart. Loose balancer shafts?
Should I pull the balancer shafts and replace them with the dummy ones Schnitz sells? I have searched and really found no real good answer. It does help with oil pressure. I will ride the bike on the street.

You're going to lose that awesome smoothness. If you're riding is mainly street I'd leave them in, I doubt you'll gain any noticeable improvement, but you will gain alot more vibes

Contrary MJ,
I have spoken with many people who have removed them, and the bike ran as smooth as stock.
Use clems shaft!

Why not just weld the holes in the stockers?

Clems shafts are cheaper than welding ..... assuming your not a welder.

I guess I could just weld the stock ones. It would be fairly simple. any pitfalls to welding the stock ones?

I've read otherwise, I don't doubt you though Lyle  I do wonder how it would be as smooth as stock though, if that was the case you'd think kawi never would have put them in in the first place. It might also depend on what different riders consider smooth. Smooth to some may be a paint shaker to others. I know my 14 is smooth as glass, smoothest bike I've ever ridden. I wouldn't want to do anything to lose that smooth lol

When you take the balancer out of the old busa it does make it a little rough down low. But not like shake your teeth. On my turbo busa which was used for the track mostly you could not even tell it was out. I am going to ride it on the street mostly. The 14 is a smooth bike and I like that about it.

The guys I know h=who did this had their internals balanced, aftermarket rods and pistons, but to be fair my stock kawi internals were within 2 grams across each cylinder!
They had carbon on them too, and I think that was what put them off!
That said I think increased rotating mass is as much the reason they have 2 balancers!
