Started with just a simple swing arm install. I couldnt stand, repeat stand the factory frame, subframe, well everything black with the metal flake in there. Just never looked clean, always hazy from the flake.

Pretty much how it looked last year before the redo

Tear down started in November

Now its time to have fun, powder coat everything! frame, subframe, swing arm, lower forks, brakes, both upper and lower triple tree, clip ons, engine mounts, engine covers and i mean everything just solid black.

With the help of the powder coater, we were able to do the wheels. pretty much a dead on for the candy plasma blue kawa paint, but powder coat. centers where done in black to match everything else.

Now, time to put it together.

Had the upper fork tubes anodized black, since i couldn't stand the gold color. Lowers were done in black.

Here is a shot of the dash, all coated up

Nice work.
I fully understand the effort involved, and the attention to detail.
Alot of anodizing and powdercoating in your project there.

I was thinking of anodizing the axle blocks and the nuts too, but they get handled / wrenched alot and figured they would show it pretty quick.
The rizoma's look good

Who's air shifter bracket is that?
Would it work with vortex rearsets?

looks great...tasteful and not overdone...love the reservoirs.

you must have had those forks shortened since I don't see a strap nor are they lowered in the top triple clamp.

swingarm is perfect length for the right look for the 14.

I was wondering about the shifter bracket myself. It seems like you are giving up a lot of leverage with that setup though? I'm sure it shifts fine, just wondering what the advantage might be?

What type of cylinder is that? It must act in reverse?

Thanks

Im not sure, friend of mine picked them up for me. ill see where he found them. It wouldnt work with the vortex rear sets, the way it connects to the stock shifter, just isnt do able.

weld up all the holes now that its sandblasted!

placed a piece of bar stock where the stock well nuts are, so i never have to worry about them falling into the engine.

yes, the forks are internally lowered around 3 inches. i'm not a fan of straps, and hate seeing 2 inches of fork tubes sticking out of the triple tree. just pet peeves

IMO, there is plenty of leverage when you see it in person. its right on the output shaft on the trans. I didnt like the look of seeing a big shifter hanging off the side. plus it got in the way of my spring on the kickstand. this setup its tucked away, the solinoid is right on the tube, and its all AN line without comnig close to the frame to scratch anything

All of the cylinders move in which direction you put the supply line. on the bottom port, pulls in. top port, pushes out. its a Jr cylinder, i believe its a pingle but i forget.

it's the "brock" mcintosh, alumipro. 2" - 8" over. air tank, now being used as a catch can breather, and 2lb bottle holder perfect for my co2 shifter! i should be able to get almost a full year out of it before i have to fill it.

turbo........ always plan ahead. i stated back on zx14ninja forums in the day that i know i can build a very nice turbo kit for under 3k and i still plan on doing so. have been collecting parts so we'll see what happens over fall/winter this year.

here is another shot of the arm with the crankcase hose going to it. should work, friends do it to there 1k and busas. dunno, we'll see!

also note, the hayabusa ohlins dragshock doesnt clear the fuel pump. ended up with a 08 busa spring on the stock shock and had it redone by adams performance. same shock they use on the there pro street 14.

Also, to show how much more i like the zx10 fender. We cut off the 14 fender mount, sanded it and rounded it before powder coating.
