Dragpak? OEM? SPrings? Clutches
I was wondering what everyone is doing when it comes time to replace your clutches in the zx14. Is everyone sticking with OEM clutches? Has anyone used the "DRAGPAK" from Cycle concepts? and is it necessary to use stiffer springs when drag racing? I would like everyones opinion...
I currently dont have a problem, but i think after my track day i will need a new set and I want to have a heads up when i change them. Thanks

Cycle concept sell them, one guy on pyschobike told me he uses them and they are similar to OEM but built a little stronger and last a little longer. There are alot of suzuki riders who use them in their bikes but i dont hear many people with 14s using them.... Im in between on whether i want to try them or not.

I ordered a spare oem today. I don't think there is a reason to use anything but oem...

Suzuki doesnt make a clutch like Kawasaki, they are always being replaced, Kawasaki builds a good clutch.

I get my oem clutchtes Schnitz Racing. I've tried Barnett Heavy, Stock, Stock w/ 3Brock Spacers, and Stock W/ 5 Spacers. I think stock w/ 3 spacers is a good setup. Not too stiff, good feel.

my first replacement clutch was a dragpak. i liked them and they saved me money over OEM(167 tmd vs 19x tmd). their stack height is a little taller than oem which may be the reason they seem to last longer. I'm the guy from psychobike

I have a Dragpack set in mine now. It seems to be working ok. It was $155 instead of $180 oem. Dont know if it is any better but it seems to be as good as the oem.

I have been using drag pack for awhile now with no problems to report. I beat the hell out of clutches plus I am larger then average. They have my indorsement.

i'm going to be buying new clutches when i get back. 15000 miles and over 200 passes on my stock clutches have them lacking a little on the mph side. that being said, for every day riding i'm pretty sure it's impossible to hurt this things clutch.

Nothing wrong with the Busa clutch last just as long as the 14's. One 08 that runs with me has over 200 passes on his clutch. I would highly recommend the dragpack from cyclec concepts can't beat there customer service and it's a good clutch. have one in my 14 right now.

Well My 08 had 190 passes before the turbo made it go out, another buddy is at 150 passes with no clutch mod or heavy springs and he's the one that just went 9.23. the bike I said has 200 plus runs is riding by a 290 lb guy. Busa clutch is every bit as good as the 14. don't believe all the hype saying you need a clutch mod to launch a busa. I just rode that wrecked 08 we put together that has 4600 miles on to a 9.44 stock wheelbase with 100% bone stock clutch. And the guy that owns it made 20 runs in 2 1/2 hours friday night. I say you had some other issue. And my 06 14 clutch lasted 187 passes but my new 06 lasted 26 runs and was shot. I'm hoping the guy i bought the bike from just did not no how to ride. I've never lost a clutch that soon.

A Brock's Performance Clutch Mod (modified stock or Ultra) is required for **ANY** Hayabusa ** EVER** launched from a dead stop! Damage to the stock machine can occur if repeatedly launched in stock form!

got a buddy named vince hill here that's stretched 6" with 18/47 gearing, brocks smeg, bazzaz, shinko u-soft, race gas, and he weighs in at around 240 lbs suited. 100% bone stock clutch with over 200 passes on it and still runs 6.0's @ 119 all day long in shitty air. There's nothing wrong with the 08 busas clutch.

he leaves pretty high, but i'm not sure that he leaves at 6500. I know he leaves high enough to carry the front tire a good ways down the track and net 1.40's
