I have an 06 and 09 , as far as power it feels a tiny bit better but i will not really know till the 09 has the same mods as my 06 ...The 09 does feel a bit more refined ...

I just bought an 09 14 and have a question about break-in, I almost have 600 miles on the clock can I open her up after 600ml or should I wait till after 1000ml. I am going 2 change the oil & filter at 600ml

Thanks
Nimo

+1 My dealer told me to stay under 4k for 500 miles. I warmed it up fully and hit 9k on the way home from the dealer..... Bike runs hard and strong.

They love the abuse. The hell with breaking it in. Mine had 500 when I took it to the track.

The 07 and 09 are different but 08 is same as 09. I read somewhere that the 08-09 model has bigger fuel injectors or bigger throttle bodies by a few mm. I also read that the power is smoother through the entire rpm range on the 08-09 due to re engineering. I promise I did not make this crap up. I did read somewhere. My 09 seems to run more mph than all of the 06-07 models with similar mods at the track. Smokin or Shane661 knows more.

my dad's 09 mph's like a motherfucker. He's still trying to get used to the transition from cruisers to sportbikes and on 1.7-1.8 60fts the thing runs 6.60 @ 117.

the "go easy on it" break in method is outdated. with todays more precise builds, a few heat cycles and take to to the races. give it hell

I think the only real differance is injector size/spray angle, mapping, and color (looks faster, lol)...most people I've heard from say the 09 is stronger (subjective...they're likely the same bike after mods). I thought I was wrong once, turns out I was just mistaken!
