crashed!

less than 24 hours after i got my bike out the shop it is all over. yesterday after i got off work
i was about ready to get on I-5 south off of mercer exit when i crashed it into the concrete
barrier wall fucking hurt. it all started when i went into the closest lane to the wall, just before the tunnel for a second i could not see because of a reflection off who knows what anyway, i grabbed some brakes next thing you know my back tire locks up so, i corrected it and after i did that it was to late i was on the shoulder of the road where all the sand is and you know what happens when that happens both tires came out from under me slammed into the wall bike hit something on the wall broke the forks in two, i went down hard bike skidded on its tank and seat. fuck! i have about 17.5 into this thing its done. dropped it off at the dealership they said its toast. so after all this shit i went to urgent care to get checked out sat there for three hours then they tell me i sould go to the ER so i go there cause they want to give me a catscan fuck the catscan i just want to get my knee cleaned out. anyway my knee hurts and is stiff my hip hurts worse. i sat there for another two hours. it turns out everyone thinks they have the swine flu. i asked the nurse have you had any + cases yet and she said no. but there is 50 people there thinking they have it. i said fuck it if your swine flu is more important that me getting checked out after slamming into a wall i ended up walking out. SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT IF SHIT EVER HITS THE FAN AND PEOPLE ARE SICK WITH SOMETHING THE WAY HOSPITALS WORK NOW DAYS AND AFTER WHAT I SAW WE ARE SCREWED.

This is horrible news!
It broke the forks in two?
Good thing it wasn't your legs or head.
Hopefully you'll heal up fine, and insurance will help you get on a new bike.

glad you are ok. i would go get checked out if you have coverage to do so. if there is something broke you need to get it looked at.

Sorry to hear about your luck.
That really sucks.
I crashed my 1st street bike back in 1988, GS1150EF.
I was bodybuilding, 18 yrs old and in the best shape of my life.

I sat t in ER waiting for 4 hours before they attended to me, lots of road rash, seperated shoulder and hairline fracture in my heal.... I wound up with a turnicut on my right arm, and a crutch under the left, and the sweltering heat causing my own sweat to burn my road rash for half the summer.
They accidentally doubled the dose of demeral while waiting for xrays, I was completely high, forgot about the injuries and when the pretty nurse asked me to undress, I stripped completely and I forgot the gown...LOL
She was staring at the boys and smiled " you forgot the gown!"
I put the gown on and returned, while on the xray table I asked her out... she laughed.
2 months later I bump into her at the grocery store, and we ended up dating for 4 months...
LOL
What an idoit I am sometimes... LOL I mean who is lookin for a date in the ER while looking like hamburger?
Anyway, I thought my story might bring some humor out.

Will you be parting the bike?

I cant imagine how you are feeling but look at the bright side you are alive. You should still get yourself checked out. Go to your local doctor rather then the hospital. This swine flu BS is gettin out of hand. this shit was man made not no coincidence....

Crashing Sux!!!

But hey, you lived to crash another day!

Shit always seams to happen at the worse fuckin' time though don't it? (ie:just outta the shop)

I bought a '05 zx10r in Dec '08. I'd been wantin' that bike since it debuted in '04. Came across a great deal on cherry that Ducati of Seattle had taken in on trade and finally took the plunge. I worked a smokin' deal over the phone, and after a sleepless night, hitched up the trailer to make the 100 mile trek to Seattle to get my new toy.

So I get home, unload it, and take a rip up to Satsop and snap some pics of my new addition.

Just look how clean this thing is!

After the photoshoot it was time to flog on this bitch.... yeah.... you already know where this is goin'....

FUCK!!!

Anyhow, we heal up, fix 'em up, and try not to let it happen again.

Glad you're ok, Dude!
If the bike is fixable, this guy has some good prices on parts:
http://www.zx14ninjaforum.com/messages.cfm?threadid=926E7F5E-1372-66AE-3BAC4C70746B2C13
and sorry fish, I'm not spamming for "the other forum"... just tryin' to give someone a line on parts.

05 ZX-10R...love them! Never had one, but would like to have one.

Sorry to hear about the crash. I know exactly where that happened as I'm from Seattle/Tacoma. Heal up then saddle up!

Damn zero, didnt even know (or remember) that you were a Seattle native. I've always hated entering those dark tunnels on a bright day, the traffic is too screwy and unpredictable around here.

Take heart in the fact that you are hardly the first one to get blinded by a sun reflection around here. Been at least a half dozen in the last 2 years, including I-5 northbound in Lynnwood 2 years ago that had 35 cars in it - and would have been 36 if I hadn't squinted thru the glare, saw the mayhem, and shot onto the shoulder and went around.

Need any help let me know, I'm in Snohomish and got a trailer, garage, and tools.

I'm sorry about your crash, glad you aren't TOO hurt, don't take this the wrong way but I have to ask...

Why are you touching the back brake? That will get you killed.

Ouch!
I can relate , been there done that and it sucks .
Total lossed my bike 2 times . The worst one sucked for me cause it left me with a bad cuncussion that lasted what seemed to be forever. The 2nd was the worst for the bike as all the cosmetics plus a bunch had to be replaced . Up side is the bike was paid off lol
Would i do it again ? Hell no!!!

Aint happening here.
Its a problem with setting sun on the west coast. Happens a lot in our clean air.
Its like looking at welding.
A little trick I do for that deal is I have precut black tape on the back of my (black) helmet.
When the sun gets low on the horizon I put it across the top 1/3 of my visor and duck my head to block the Sun, kinda like you would with a Ball cap.

Sorry about the way things went down Zero, that sucks!!
Was battling the Sun in the woods in Tahuya about the same time.
Did a nasty flying W on a unseen sandy patch. I was luckier I guess.

Ohlins time??
Let us know how it turns out.
