Compression damping and rebound will likely be near the max with a stock spring at your wheelbase. You want the preload soft enough to squat...but not bottom out. Generally you want the spring to compress fairly quickly...but return slowly.

I had my damping cranked all the way at 64" and 210 lbs. rider. If you still have the spring set soft, try stiffening it by just a few turns.

If you add too much preload you won't be able to control the spring.

PS. I'm not an expert, so hopefully some more people will give their .02.

There is compression and rebound damping adjustments...

The compression damping will affect how quickly the shock compresses, and how well that process is controlled.

The rebound damping will affect how quickly the shock returns to it's original position, once it compresses.

So, set the spring "tension" (preload) to where the spring is strong enough to keep from bottoming out, but not extremely stiff. Depending on how stiff you have to set the spring will determine how much damping you need.

I am sure you will use maximum rebound damping and fairly near maximum compression damping. But, the lighter you are the less will need. On a good shock you would have more rebound damping than compression damping...but the stock shocks are pretty weak once you extend the bike.

I don't know what your gearing is, but your 60 ft. could be lower. MPH probably was lower due to the heat.

On roughly your same setup, and a little heavier, I ran some solid 9.30's...with an air shifter.

Best of 9.32 on a 1.49 60 ft.. Like I say, I'm no expert.

63-64" seems to be good compromise. In my video above I am on 16/45...but those are also mid-low 1.5 60 ft's.

The new bike setup has went 9.23 on 16/43...and mid-high 1.5's. I haven't gotten my riding together yet....and the bike is not close to being dialed-in, either. But the lighter weight is helping (me and the bike).

I installed them for feel. I think that is the big benefit. As for helping the 60 ft, I went nearly the same 60 ft. on 17/43 gears and stock springs/no spacers.
